"Beware the 'Bernie Bros': Partisan Hysteria Unleashed"

DISCLAIMER: the title of the linked article is partially sarcastic/facetious -- intended to mock those who use "Bernie Bro" as a blanket invective.

Another point that’s lost on many Clinton supporters and establishment Democrats: by remaining in the primaries up through the early-summer, Bernie can still be instrumental in firing up citizen-led activism on behalf of candidates who are more progressive and more candid than your typical bought-and-sold-for types. These candidates are going to need campaign infrastructure and optimistic buzz all the way through November 8, 2016 – and that will be true regardless of whether it’s Hillary or Bernie at the top of the ticket.

Some examples of candidates still competing in downticket primaries, who could benefit from the enthusiasm of Bernie’s supporters: Donna Edwards in Maryland; Deborah Ross in North Carolina; Jeff Kender in Kentucky; Michael Eggman in California; Nancy Rotering in Illinois; Denise Juneau in Montana; John Fetterman and Lindy Li in Pennsylvania; Victoria Steele and Miguel Olivas in Arizona; and Val Demings, Annette Taddeo, and Jonathan Chane in Florida.

Even if some of these candidates don’t win their respective Democratic primaries (against establishment-favored candidates) or their General Election races – the #FeelTheBern movement still can give them a boost via exposure and grassroots networking in anticipation of future election cycles.

This was a piece that I wrote for my personal blog. What motivated me to write it: I found myself becoming more and more disgruntled, quite frankly, when sitting idly by in silence and watching critics (many of whom have a vested interest in preserving the status quo of the establishment) malign and stereotype all of Bernie's supporters with this mean-spirited moniker of "the Bernie Bros."

I'm not a professional writer or a paid columnist, by any means; if you find anything in this piece worth sharing with others who've been drinking political kool-aid, please feel free to share it (URL or otherwise) with them or post it anyplace you deem appropriate.
