U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders plans to visit Charlotte on Monday, a few hours ahead of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton’s visit to the Queen City.

Sanders’ campaign announced Saturday that the Vermont senator will be at PNC Music Pavilion for a late afternoon rally. Entry to the venue begins at 1:30 p.m. RSVPs are requested.

Sanders visit is his first to Charlotte and comes after Friday’s visit to the Triangle.

Charlotte will be ground zero for the Democratic race Monday, a day before Tuesday’s presidential primary. North Carolina will be one of five key states, including Florida, Ohio, Illinois and Missouri voting that day.

Outdoor, semi-covered, 20 thousand and maybe more. Should have great optics.

Fill it up and have a great time.

I wish it had been announced earlier- need to figure out how to get out of work. Gates open at 1:30 but I wonder when the rally will actually begin. If it's late enough I might be able to make it. Anyone know?
