Yes, how dare we criticize powerful politicians
If you visit the General Discussion: Primaries forum, there is a post about Howard Dean saying that Bernie Sanders supporters are cyberbullies for criticizing Hillary Clinton. How dare those Bernie supporters criticize powerful politicians what do they think this is a democracy?
Calling Sanders supporters cyberbullies for criticizing Hillary Clinton is ridiculous. The Sanders supporters are simply regular people while she is a powerful politician. Feudalism is over, we no longer owe homage to our feudal lord. In a democracy the people are sovereign. Our elected officials gain legitimacy from our votes, they are not legitimate in themselves. Politicians are suppose to work for us and not the other way around. It is apparently fine for Dean for Hillary and her supports to say anything they want while Bernie supports need to brought to Heel. Dean is chilling speech with his comment, and very authoritarian.

1. His comments are only to get Sanders people enraged so HRC's people can come back and say "SEE".
Reagan was able to make the term "Liberal" be a bod word by saying "There they go again" to the point it move the whole party away from that bad word.

5. He is not elected nor an official, as far as I know. He's a talking head. 2009 was the last time he
was relevant beyond that.

3. I think what Dean is experiencing is GOP operatives posing as Sanders supporters. Heck, we saw it
here at DU back when Dean was a primary candidate and the ops were posing as his supporters throughout that time and into the general.
I don't for a second believe supporters truly inspired by Sanders would be 'Bernie Bros' trolling Warren or Dean. They fit the bill for GOP operatives, though. Dean should know better. Perhaps he needs to come to grips with what the GOP machine is prepared to do. http://newsone.com/1424285/gop-site-plans-to-infiltrate-progressive-with-trolls/ |

6. Hillary campaign must be upset at all the instant fact-checking.
Best way for them to deal with that, imho, is not to make statements that won't hold up to fact-checking.

7. The problem is...
That most politicians don't work for the voters who gave them their job, they work for the donors and lobbyists that will give them large paychecks after they leave office. See, e.g., Howard Dean. To them, us voters are just pesky peons they have to pander to and lie to once every 2, 4 or 6 years for a few months. They could care less about the people they are suppoed to support & anyone that threatens their power is the enemy. That is why they are freaking out about Sanders and his supporters, they will overturn their fiefdoms.

8. I don't hate Hillary Clinton. I hate her politics.
Her politics relies on the appearance of justice. A foundation of a country cannot remain stable if all our leaders are skirting the rule of law in order to "get things done." In the end, their accomplishments will fail because they went for the fast endgame, instead of following the process that ensures their decisions are sound.

13. Howard Dean's Charge Is Worthless Unless He Can Prove That the Sanders's Campaign Is Engaging In ..
cyberbullying.
Where is the PROOF Dr. Dean? If you can't provide PROOF than not only is your accusation worthless, but you have also shown yourself to be dishonest. Anybody in cyberspace can pretend to be a supporter of anybody. Only PROOF that a campaign is behind cyberbullying would validate your charge. Where is the PROOF Dr. Dean? |
