beware of those looking to shore up the purge list (xpost from gdp)

i am sure this will be locked as meta, although, if we can see thread after thread by posters (some might call them trolls), posting bait threads asking bernie supporters if, under about a thousand freaking different circumstances, we would ever consider voting for hillary in the ge in order to get names for an upcoming purge list, i think it is equally fair to leave a thread warning people about it.

you are being baited. they are looking to clean out bernie supporters in the exceedingly unlikely event hillary becomes the nom.

don't fall for it.

I kinda have the feeling that there may be an exodus, not a purge, the way folks are behaving.

DU just fine. It's fun posting on here and talking to, and sometimes arguing with, all of you.

However, I will vote for who I want in the primaries and in the GE. As you describe it, restore, I'm probably on the purge list already.

So I'll say this. I made it 55 years without ever having heard of DU and if I get purged, well, I won't let the door hit me in the butt on the way out. DU is great, sure, but it isn't important enough to me for me to lie in order to have the privilege of staying.

In other words, why should I compromise my morals to have posting privileges on this site?

He doesn't have a trail of hypocrisy like this. Instead he's got a consistent record of saying the same things, and standing for the same things for 40 years. We need Bernie.

i think the reason this is such a topic is that many of us are tired of having ideas and candidates shoved down our throats and told to shut up and like it.

and like you, my life will go on and i will visit elsewhere, probably at jpr, where many of us are likely to mert up again

choosing your phrasing to avoid absolutes with them. They are absolutists and cannot stand anyone not agreeing with their annoited one.

I can't 100% speak to whether I would not vote for her if some cataclysmic event were to take place in Nov. That's months from now. I can say though that at this point I would have issues pulling the lever for her.

isn't enough for them or they would stay in there. They like it in GD: P but if they purge all Sanders supporters, GD: P would become the Hillary Group.

As far as warning people not to fall for it, I don't think their "clever" ways of administering their loyalty pledges is fooling anyone. Most here can't be threatened by banning. And the purge has already started. Some have been banned and others bullied off.

Your OP most likely won't get "locked" because a alert against the Statement of Purpose of this Group will go to the Group's hosts.

However, a hide is possible if there is an alert against Community Standards. Anything goes there.

"Think Tank", I know the irony is palpable. Some think its cute to plot and conspire like in jr high.

There is a tactics list which includes:

Obsessive alerting, of course. Including multiple SOP alerts.

Using the alert system to put pressure on specific hosts.

Getting the first response slot for threads they don't agree with. This takes some dedication to monitor new OP's by hitting the refresh button over and over and then banging out a very quick message.

Pretending to be a Bernie supporter BUT being constantly disappointed (I like Bernie, but....), called Bernie Buts.

There is a world out there with nature and real people and lots of fun things to do. I'm sorry if some members are shut in and can't get out and feel like DU is the only source of interaction with others. It's kinda sad but going to the point of making list of the people you hate is bordering on a serious mental problem and should be addressed by a professional ASAP. If you are one of these members please get help, it will only get worse if you ignore it ...and Hillary adoration is not a healthy solution IMO.
