"Bernie Sanders Looks to Flip Superdelegates" Interesting Take - Good Strategy (Original Post) Impedimentus Mar 2016 OP

Obama is a corporatist like Hillary and Trump. Bernie is not. Why would they switch to Bernie? jalan48 Mar 2016 #2

Only if social issues are more important than economic ones to the SDs. jalan48 Mar 2016 #4

I'm not as pessimistic as you. Coattails Mean EVERYTHING to them. Most are up for election in 2016 Impedimentus Mar 2016 #8
I look at how the election has been covered by the corporate media up to this point. jalan48 Mar 2016 #11

She needs 2336 to win before the convention. the fact that she won't get there means she is a very weak candidate. indeed it should have never been this close for Hillary Clinton

The super delegates only care about themselves. If Clinton looks weak and Bernie looks like he can win the GE some will switch, perhaps many.

The super delegates ONLY care about themselves. If they perceive Bernie to be the only one who can beat Trump they will switch.

Wall St. Democrats don't want Bernie's tax increases no matter what letter they have behind their names.

Remember, many many super delegates are also candidates. They will follow the coattails.

Trump has been promoted by the media. That's who they want on the Republican side. On the Democratic side they want Obama's Wall Street friendly policies to continue. Unless there are lots of Bernie's running down ticket the names are meaningless.

I'm probably feeling a bit cantankerous today after yesterday's results. I hope Bernie can pull it out and I will continue to work for him, I just feel the fix is in, and has been for some time. My feeling is that even if he were to win a a small majority of pledged delegates the SDs would stick with Clinton giving her the nomination. It's party (Wall St) politics and Bernie is going against some powerful financial interests. Trump is already a known quantity with Wall St. as is Hillary.

I don't disagree with you. I was trying to make a different point. If near convention time it looks like Clinton will likely not win the GE the super delegates (especially those up for election) want coattails, they want to have a winner in the GE. This is their own self-interest. They don't want to back a GE loser. In such a scenario, and it is a problematic scenario, they would likely switch to Bernie if he looked much more electable. That is the only point I'm trying to make. The bottom line is their loyalty is to themselves. If Hillary looks like she could win the GE they will stay put.

Hang in there, it's a bumpy ride ahead, but it most certainly is not over.

Best regards,

if the clinton foundation investigation leads to any indictments, bernie will be there to take the lead and be the nom. hillary supporters like to dismiss it as rw conspirscy, but this is not the benghazi hearings. this is 150+ investigstors, a witness with immunity, and a possible pay to play scheme usimg the sos office as cover.

very important that bernie be there in philly and make that point to the supers.

1. Hillary is indicted or something similar happens

2. Bernie overtakes Hillary in elected delegates

Otherwise, most politicians are in the pockets of the corporations and will do their bidding unless forced to do otherwise (see #1 and 2). Any superdelgate that has endorsed Bernie if Hillary wins will be in the dog house.

Hillary in case Hillary gets the nomination. Then it will come out. Obama is doing it because of shit she pulled in 2008 and way she basically bad mouthed him in press on his Foreign Policy, which was actually her influencing him to make bad choices. He is just waiting for her to get as close as she can so when his move it will be so much of a gut punch when this email thing comes to a head. So it will come out after Nov we will start to see more stuff "leaked" from Whit House on how All FP blunders of Obama's first term where Hillarys influence.
