The remaining 9 percent were what might best be described as protest votes for candidates such as former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, who had already dropped out of the Republican race for president.
Cruz was essentially in a tie with Trump in Prescott. However, in Prescott Valley, an exit poll suggested that Cruz was well ahead of Trump, by more than a 2-to-1 margin, according to more exit polls during Tuesdays Presidential Preference Election.
Democrats in both locations were trending much more strongly for Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont than former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton; 62 percent of respondents favored Sanders with just 37 percent voting for Clinton.

(5,792 posts)just saw a poll on MSNBC that said will you plan on voting for Hillary for President in 2016. The poll shows 84% saying no at 116,000 and yes at 19,000. I wonder if this is a look into the future.

(2,345 posts)Exit poll IN Arizona, not "for the whole state of Arizona."
Reading comprehension. It matters. So does the fact that this is a protected group, which I hope you will eventually be courteous enough to see your way out of.

(370 posts)He is just trying to point out that this is only two small places. I kind of have to agree that it is not representative, especially when you consider early voting went to Hillary, which is not measured in exit polls.

(73 posts)It is the early voting. In states where early voting is allowed far ahead without an excuse Clinton wins. Name recognition. People vote before Bernie's start airing ads. ground work etc..

(4,695 posts)Wait, I remember, that the Clinton's lied about Sanders removing Medicare.
Surly the Democratic delegates are paying attention to the plight of older voters.

(3,304 posts)Everything about AZ screams election fraud and voter suppression. Every vote counts.
Bernie needs to hire someone to contest this. His supporters and donors are paying for more than wishful thinking.

(1,217 posts)our primary is June 7th, same as CA, MT, NJ, ND and SD. I'm not real optimistic because in our last primary (top of ticket for governor) we had a 20% turnout and the Dems nominated the worst candidate EVER, Gary King, who was crushed by the evil Suzanna Martinez. UGH.
Santa Fe and Northern NM are the progressive areas and ABQ and south and east we call 'Little Texas', conservative Dems.

(3,040 posts)of election fraud, I would say its a coincidence. But there are WAY too many instances to call it anything but intentional. I am not suggesting who was the mastermind behind it, but it needs to be investigated and fixed. This isn't a "nothing to see here folks" as Hillary's camp is saying, because this could ruin whoever the candidate in the GE.
But, since the media darling candidates won, the media will probably just ignore or shrug off as not significant this like everything else that hurts either Trump or Clinton.

(2,398 posts)I'm a Sanders supporter, but I don't think this exit poll means much. It only covered the towns of Prescott and Prescott Valley, which together make up about 80,000 people. But the whole county has over 200,000 people. So you can't really compare the exit poll results with the county results, because they could be very different, especially since there's often a big town vs. countryside difference in voter preferences. Plus, we know almot nothing about this exit poll, which only gets one paragraph in one article in a small town newspaper. Chances are it had a very small sample size.
I think more telling is some incomplete data I saw that showed that with about 20% of the voters on election day across all of Arizona, Sanders had 50% and Clinton had 50%. Whereas Clinton did much better with early voting. That says to me that if more of the provisional ballots in Arizona are counted, and there's a lot of them due to all the trouble, Clinton's lead should narrow and Sanders may pick up some more delegates.

They became inaccurate within the United States after 2000, with the introduction of electronic voting machines and electronic vote counting machines.

(10,650 posts)Perhaps it is because of fraud and election rigging, or people just not being straightforward on their choices.
