Bernie has to find a way to win the closed primary states on April 19 and 26.

There are six states - all in the northeast - which are holding closed primaries on April 19 (NY) and 26 (CT, DE, MD, PA and RI). These states have a combined total of 631 delegates. All of these states have closed primaries like the ones in AZ and FL. Independents will not be able to walk up to their polling place on Election Day and vote in these primaries. Bernie will fall behind by another 100 delegates if Hillary wins these states by the same margin she won AZ.

Bernie absolutely needs to take advantage of the voter registration deadlines which are fast approaching in NY, PA and MD. His focus needs to be in NY and unregistered voters as the deadline has already passed for existing voter to perform party changes from unaffiliated to Democrat. He also needs to start busing people to the polls to take advantage of early voting. Waiting until Election Day to GOTV is a losing strategy.

The only states with more than 65 pledged delegates after April 26 are IN (May 3) and CA and NJ (both June 7). Those six late April primaries are must wins for Bernie.

Won MD by a good margin but won DE by 53%.

If you analyze the exit polls for NY and PA, you will come to the conclusion that Bernie has a shot at winning both.

Obama lost both, 45% in PA and 40% NY.

For people who were registered as Independents or Repubs last year and wanted to switch to Dem, they would have had to change over by last October in order to vote in this year's primary.

in NY requires a reason. Its rules are not as forgiving as the Arizona's. There shouldn't be as much early voting in NY as there was in Arizona and other states. Same for PA.

Not just registration but quick and easy state by state instructions on how to navigate primaries/caucuses/affiliation etc. But it's too late to start now for mid-April, or at least to have much effect.
