Didja ever notice...

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1251&pid=1778978

Whenever you point out the reprehensible amount of blood on $hillary's hands, her supplicants will automatically about-face and change the topic of conversation?

1. I wonder how long it'll be before someone alerts on that post.

I'm not suggesting an alert but a suggestion to vote for the GOP is a no-no here.

"maybe you should change to GOP and just vote for them"

2. It is amazing isn't it?

What a jerky thing to say to you. Yup, it is either black or white and people who see it that way are never going to do anything but say these kinds of things.

3. What gets under my skin and pisses me the actual fuck off

is my father, my grandfather, and his father before him have all been military. Army, Marine, Army, and then Air Force with me. My fiancée's uncle was a goddamn SEAL, and I watched him last year at a New Year's Eve celebration have a flashback episode thanks to his time in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of my best fucking friends is missing a leg at the knee because his convoy rolled over a goddamn IED! I live around the runoff and detritus that that conflict left behind! And people expect me to vote for one of its architects!

And have the ever-loving, motherfucking nerve to berate me by playing the sympathy card when I fit two of their categories!

But no, I guess I'm wrong-- I'm an idiot for expecting this new age of the democratic party to give a fuck about the military except for cannon fodder in interventions and regime changes, huh?

6. These people, I swear to my goddess,

it gets more and more difficult day by day to not tell them they're barely better than animals. What else could someone who revels in war be? CompanyFirstSergeant put it best a few days back-- actual soldiers, actual warriors, they don't revel in the demise of their enemies. Yet they try to justify Iraq. They try to justify Afghanistan. They try to justify Syria. They try to justify Libya. They try to justify "We came, we saw, he died" and a laugh, knowing full fucking well what the rebels we backed did to Qaddafi when he was dragged into the street. I'm not saying he wasn't a reprehensible human being. But it doesn't matter what you've done short of raping children, you don't deserve a bayonet in the ass.

These people simultaneously terrify and disgust me. Their eagerness for war terrifies me. The fact that they'd sacrifice the servicemen and women who bravely stepped up, recited the oath, all to satiate their bloodlust-- without enlisting themselves-- that's what fucking disgusts me.

And the fact that the Democratic Party has fallen this far just kills my faith in humanity at large.

10. Mine too.

I know they all said they thought about it long and hard but I do not believe that. I think almost every vote is made based on their need and desire to make money to run again and win. Or on political expediency for the party. It depends on the situation. It is certainly rarely for us or we would not be where we are today.

The bloodlust is a decision maker for me. There are others of course but to send people off to die, that is a changer for me. If I had any proof there was hard thinking done before voting for these conflicts rather than just a knee jerk for whatever corrupt reason I would spend the time to think it through. Not sure it would change much but I don't really think that I will have to worry about that. We are going to stick with knee jerk responses depending on what corporation will benefit.

16. Exactly. I'm starting to develop a certain Carlinist nihilism in what used to be my fellow man, tbh.

5. They gain a sense of strength and self-esteem by vicariously sharing in America's military

'triumphs.' They like war, when it's conducted by their personality cult leaders. They only object to war when it proves useful to besmirching their opponents.

15. You definitely have your finger on the conservative pulse of America.

I have talked to dozens of Vietnam War veterans over the last 13 years who have told me that they were shocked that we were going to invade Iraq in 2003 and start another "lie war".
That was how many of them referred to the Iraq War, as a "lie war".
Mostly because they knew that war was started on lies, rumors, and innuendo based on fear.

Bush's administration ramped up the fear mongering in this country to a fever pitch, and then invaded Iraq saying Hussein was responsible for the reason that America was attacked in 2001.
We all know better now.
But, many of us knew, even before the first troops were sent to Iraq, that the Iraq War was a mistake.

And I agree with you that a lot of people seem to live vicariously through America's ill-advised military ventures in foreign countries.
People like to say "thank you for your service" to veterans right after they find out the guy or gal they are talking to has served in the military.
In a knee-jerk fashion, almost in an apologetic manner.

Yet, it has been my experience that it is mostly conservatives that say this to veterans.

I know that it never happened to me until many years after I finished serving in the Marine Corps that anyone said "thank you for your service" to me.
It didn't happen to me until after the Iraq war started.
Yet, it made me wonder what the hell they thought they were thanking me for, to begin with.
It seemed odd to me because so many people didn't act like it was a big deal for years, until the Iraq War started.

But, once Operation Shock and Awe got underway, it was as if those people felt compelled to say something to me, to try and act as if they were concerned for my welfare in some fashion or manner.
Nearly every time, almost as an aside, they would admit that they also supported Bush for starting the Iraq War, to get some kind of revenge or something.
Yet, none of them seemed to be aware that the entire VA system had been under attack by the Republicans ever since Saint Ronnie got in to the White House in 1981.

It boggles my mind, even to this day.
It still makes no sense whatsoever to me that people can support Hillary after all of the saber-rattling, warmongering speeches that she has given over the last dozen years or so.
Especially Hillary's most recent speech to AIPAC, when she explicitly described Iran as a country that was an enemy of the United States.
The PNAC members must have been ecstatic to hear her desire to declare war on Iran, if she gets the chance.

Evidently, people who support Hillary don't ever think of the consequences to the troops.
Quite frankly, I don't think they give a damn if combat veterans suffer from PTSD for the rest of their lives for serving in those military ventures in foreign countries.

It's just my opinion, but I think this country needs Bernie to be the President of this country more than ever before.

8. Took longer than I expected.

Also fails to surprise me. This is the same board that will allow Bernie to be called a motherfucker, but as soon as you flip that on its head at Bill Clinton, you get a hide for it.

9. Most who support Bernie have left -

I check in now & then (I figure someone has to be here to run the place if Bernie actually pulls this off even with the DNC doing their best to cheat him out of it). Most are on JPR, Twitter and/or Reddit. We are done with the nonsense.
