In a roundabout way, he agreed with the Hillary talking point that Sanders was being to harsh on Hillary. I agree with what he is saying, but he didn't have to agree with Hillary. Even the caller was taken aback and had a wtf moment.

on many things because of Bernie..." and that she has seen the light so to speak...and that he trusts her to have changed somewhat and, as the astute politician that she is, will feel which way the wind is blowing and will adopt more leftist aspects to her political programs...

when he goes into that mode, he sounds like he wants the 'hopeful' to replace the 'known history'...Hillary is the perfect political chameleon-like leopard: she can change her spots to fit whatever environmental narrative she needs to address...but inside she is the same person whose history, all of it, good and bad, has a certain consistency that neither she, nor anyone else, can or SHOULD deny..

unless, that is, they just refuse to acknowledge or address ALL of the aspects of her political career...

Hillary is Hillary...and any pressure from Bernie, or anyone else for that matter, will change her not one whit...

Thom wants to bring the party together, no, the primary isn't over. She hasn't earned my vote and going negative on Bernie isn't helping. I would rather have a clean campaign, I'm not sure she can do that.

Even if it results in economic disaster for (US) working people.

I think it was assumed when the 90s deals were entered into that that would happen, but that the workers might just get other jobs, perhaps at a lower wage..

Too bad she wouldn't stay there. I don't know why knowledgable people believe she would, it boggles my mind. Thom should know better than expect she would stay true to her word. Head scratcher, that one.

She'd be a formidable fighter for the people if she was on the side of the people. I respect she's a staunch liberal and a fighter for social issues (she actually is) but it appears she's much like the libertarians in that she cares about the correct values as long as they benefit her.

She politiks, she doesn't lead. She's good at the game, but it's the game that is the problem to begin with. We want to change it and why would we expect anyone to change something they are invested in keeping precisely the way it is.

But, maybe this is what it will take to make people see it.

Plus, if you want less war .... she's a terrible choice for president. Absolutely awful.

Afterthought: all that said, I understand that Thom has to make a business decision at every turn, this is a tough primary for a lot of people.

My wife loves the guy so that's why we listen to him. I find him depressing and at times very misinformed. The only thing I liked was Brunch with Bernie.

His self-appointed job as expert on everything is total bull. He's wrong about a lot things. I've cringed at some of the misinformation about science or technical subjects.

Bottom line, take anything he says with a grain of salt.

My husband is a 4th year medical student, graduating with an MD next month, and he was cringing at some of the things they were saying. The producer especially was using non-medical and scientific terms to describe the cases in order to put them into perspective, there was no statistical analysis. The discredited gastroenterologist was the only "expert" offering a medical opinion. Then Thom suggested that acupuncture and chiropractic treatments for autism may be effective. It was practically the whole show. I thought he would have focused a little more on the huge primary that same day instead.

Was when the philosophy of science professor caller called in to say what they were talking about was seriously dangerous incorrect, and, instead of agreeing, Thom obnoxiously asked if the caller was a scientist.

Yesterday was the most important primary in my life time but Thom talked about how Pharma shills are the reason we have the immunization schedule and it is nefarious for some reason. I was waiting for Jenny McCarthy to join in the conversation.

Also, congratulations on your husband graduating med school!

just wrong on his "facts" and has been an embarrassment when he appears on other shows like a Real Time. Brunch with Bernie is what kept me coming back, but it seems like all those hours with Bernie one-on-one taught him little. And his need to appease right-wing callers is disingenuous. People have been saying on this board that he appears to be leaning Hillary for a while now. I couldn't believe it, but now I do.

What the hell does he think Bernie state convention delegates are doing? They are involved. And if Sanders drops out if everyone folds up their tents and stays home state parties will not be forced to feel the Bern at their conventions.

Shit really does happen at state conventions, it may vary from state to state, but many of Bernies revolutionaries have credentials and can influence what goes on.

This campaign can be a beachhead, the leading edge of a much larger, longer lasting push for political change.

Hartmann seems to miss that point with his incessant myopia. Look at him, please. He can't even think past his next paycheck for hawking gold to save us from the 2016 apocalyptic crash he predicts in his book. This guy is a guru? No he's the political equivalent of a color commentator on a sportscast.
