After AP calls nomination for Clinton, will voters still turn out Tuesday?

Voting data specialist Paul Mitchell said he expected people to avoid the polls in California on Tuesday because of the Associated Press’ Monday announcement that Hillary Clinton had secured enough support to become the presumptive nominee .

Political observers had largely predicted that Democrats’ contested presidential race would spur more Democrats to vote Tuesday ...
California's voter rolls grew by almost 650,000 in the final six weeks of registration. Three of every four new voters were Democrats.

But with AP's announcement, voters will be bombarded with news that the race has been called for Clinton, Mitchell said.
“It’s all going to be built upon the concept that the race is over,” he said. “This is going to pop the balloon of what was potentially an extremely high poll voter turnout.”

when he said they were going to call it at poll closing time in NJ. Tonight, the AP bigfooted them--stepped on their gouty toes.

People have had a chance to process it and decide what they are going to do.

It seems that the only way the Clinton campaign can "win" (other than flat-out cheating) is by depressing voter turnout and enthusiasm. Hopefully, the people of California and other states voting today will see through it. I'd love it if it backfired spectacularly and led to a Bernie victory in NJ, but sadly, I don't think there's much chance of that happening.

and a large portion are young, social, engaged, and enthusiastic. It seems just about every expert prediction about this election on both sides has proven false, the old rules don't apply this year.

for it. No one should be surprised when this happens. It is pretty much par for the course for the media.

No one should be surprised the fascist media is pulling the plug a day early. Fascist media has been fighting us since day one.

Low voter turnout. So easy to purge votes when you have established an excuse and cancelled the exits polls.
