Clinton has generally done much better with earlier voters. Her ground game has emphasized early voters, her demographic strengths tend to vote more early.

For example here in NC, it was about even on Election Day, but she had a large lead among early voting. Older voters and AA voters are heavy users of early voting. Clinton had a lot of votes "in the bank" before Election Day. It helped protect her from the Bernie surge.

so I wouldn't think they'd vote by mail. But it's a mystery to me.
