Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumWhat the fuck, Bill? Bill Maher bashes Bernie supporters for being "Santa-ist".
What the hell? He just belittled the entire cause.
He sounds like a right-winger. Calling affordable college and healthcare "Free-stuff" and "entitlements" isn't something I would expect from Maher. He completely ignores the economic positions of so many Americans. Affordable or "free" college would bring so many people out of debt and prevent so many others from going into debt. He even ignores the fact the Bernie's plan would save the average American money. This is not only wrong, but completely ignorant.

(22,845 posts)States like Pennsylvania and California offered free tuition to state residents. I think some schools in New York state were free too. As for myself, I started at Rutgers University in 1969, when tuition was $200 a semester.

(41,056 posts)costs were very affordable with our summer jobs to help out. Every one graduated w/o debt and found a decent job or career. It's appalling now and infuriates me how this is not brought up Often, by the more left media. It's pure robbery for two generations without any action to reform, yet.

Last night Maher did make several very complimentary, sincere-seeming comments about Bernie, 'He worked really hard; He is the future', more. At the end he went on that weak, weird winder about millennials living free off their parents, etc.
Also last week Maher gave a major, impressive rant on 'capitalism eats everything'; some socialism 'lapband' is needed' and the Video segment is posted here.
The show before that he discussed with Michael Moore his fine new movie, 'Where to Invade Next' about traveling to other countries and Europe where they have many more equitable systems and traditions. Some of which were adopted from the US like public education, May 1, the workers 'May Day' celebration and also the 8 hr. workday.
