In an unprecedented move, the Washington State Democratic Party has endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders for president at its state convention in Tacoma. The endorsement came despite the fact that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the party's presumptive nominee.
Bernie Sanders won 70 percent of the Democratic delegates in Washington and his followers were able to change the rules to permit the endorsement as a show of respect for their candidate and his issues.

In a bid for unity, party leaders brought in the only US Senator to endorse Sanders,
Still Oregon's Jeff Merkley drew some jeers when he asked delegates to consider the issues at stake and support Hillary Clinton.

(538 posts)I will never VOTE for Hillary! I'd rather die a thousand deaths then VOTE for someone that represents everything I'm against!

(8,175 posts)I'm not giving up on him so soon. I am disappointed he pushed support for Hillary this early though. He should have waited for the convention.

Didn't she have a much higher lead the day after the primary? That means as more votes come in he could still match or even beat her in Cali?
I don't know what impact that might have, but it would be a wonderful thing to see.

It means something to stay true to Bernie amid the heavy establishment pressure and ugly media insults against him because he stayed in the race for we the people.
Bernie is proof that we still count!
