Bernie Sanders eats at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que before Syracuse Rally for Candidate

[font color="FireBrick"]Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders shook hands and said hello to customers at the Dinosaur Bar-B-Que Friday after eating at the restaurant. Sanders later appeared at a rally for congressional candidate Eric Kingson.

A waitress said the Vermont senator sat at a table behind the hostess station in the back of the restaurant and ordered brisket and chicken. Photos posted on social media showed Sanders and another person at a table with Secret Service agents nearby.

Rubino said people continually stood up from their tables to take pictures, which she thought was a bit rude.

"Nobody wants to have a picture taken of them with barbecue sauce all over their face," she said.

There appeared to be about six or seven Secret Service agents with Sanders, Rubino said. When he got up to leave Sanders visited with people briefly.

"He stepped right up to me and I said hello and he said hello," Rubino said.

Sanders said hello to some more people, shook a couple hands and then people stood and began clapping as he left, she said.

"I've been here 25 times and nothing this interesting has ever happened before," Rubino said.
