(1,421 posts)Like Sarah Silverman, I supported and voted for Bernie Sanders. I could come up with a list of reasons why I chose Bernie over Hillary, but what's the point? She won the nomination. Simple. Even if the DNC dumbasses had not emailed their planning against Bernie amongst themselves, she still would have won. I am proud of how well he did, how his campaign defeated the odds, the media and engaged so many people. I am particularly happy about the Democratic Party platform which is a direct result of that engagement.
I am not thrilled with the establishment of any existing party, but I am still a Democrat. Change happens from within, and I support that change, but I don't support that change at the risk of allowing Donald Trump to become POTUS.
I'm with Bernie and Sarah and therefore I'm with Hillary.

(8,421 posts)and hope it gets the message across. I love Bernie, and will support his revolution, but Hillary won. And since I'm old and worried about SS and Medicare, I'll vote for her.

(28,075 posts)however, Trump scares me and would be a disaster. I will be voting against him by filling in the circle next to her name.
Beyond that, I will watch her like a hawk and again, unless she surprises me, hope like hell someone mounts a strong primary challenge in 2020.

(28,075 posts)I was speaking to someone at a DFL picnic last Saturday who thought she might raise some money for the local DFL by putting the campaign logo on clothes pins and selling them, but then she realized that we wouldn't be able to wear them in the voting booths because campaign material isn't allowed at the polling place (and party rules wouldn't allow her to do this - but it was good idea).
