Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is the most popular member of the U.S. Senate, according to a Morning Consult poll released Tuesday that said 75 percent of Vermont voters approve of him.
The former Democratic presidential nominee was followed by Sen. Brian Schatz, D-Hawaii, who has a 69 percent approval rating from voters in his home state. Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, has a 67 percent approval rating, and Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., came in fourth at 66 percent.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is the least popular senator, according to the poll. Only 41 percent of Kentuckians approve of him while 48 percent do not no senator had a higher disapproval rating. McConnell is one of three senators with an approval rating that is lower than his disapproval rating.
Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake followed McConnell with 43 percent and 37 percent approval ratings, and disapproval ratings of 47 and 45 percent, respectively. The two Arizona Republicans have been highly critical of Trump.

(32,640 posts)for obvious reasons. The headline is misleading in that Sanders is the most popular Senator *among his constituents.*
Sanders is actually down 12% in approval and up 9% in disapproval in that poll from last September, holding steady at where he was in April.
