Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumBernie regarding Hillary on the issue differences between them
Bernie Sanders: I think that the business model of Wall Street is fraud. And I think these guys drove us into the worst economic down turn in the modern history of America. And I think theyre at it again. I believe when you have so few banks with so much power you have to not only re-establish GlassSteagall Act but youve got to break them up. That is not Hillary Clintons position. I believe that our trade policies with NAFTA, CAFTA, PNTR with China have been a disaster. I am helping to lead the effort against the Trans-Pacific Partnership. That is not Hillary Clintons position. I believe, along with Pope Francis, and almost all scientists, that climate change is threatening this planet in horrendous ways and that we have to be aggressive in transforming our energy system away from fossil fuel, and defeat, and defeat the Keystone pipeline, that is not Hillary Clintons position. I believe that as opposed to my Republican colleagues who want to cut Social Security, I believe we should expand Social Security by lifting the cap on taxable income. Thats not Hillary Clintons position. I believe that weve got to raise the minimum wage over a period of several years to $15 an hour. Not Hillary Clintons position. I voted against the war in Iraq. Hillary Clinton voted for it.

(9,497 posts)There was no snark or change in his tone when he spoke. He just listed the differences.
He is a study on staying on target and not letting ego disturb the path. I should take it to heart!

(568 posts)Really smart.
Say what your position is and simply say that the opponent does not share that position.
It's critical without being an attack.
Love it!

(45,057 posts)depending on which idea has the most support. I'm not sure we have time left to wait for someone to evolve.

(2,975 posts)Differential but not "negative" (except that those cardinal differences reflect very poorly on Hillary) , on message and steady. That's our guy !

(12,863 posts)... unless we send Bernie Sanders to the White House at the head of a political revolution with record numbers of voters enthusiastic to participate in democracy and determined to upset the apple cart of the status quo.
I never really understood those who say they're for those policies but doubt they can be achieved, so therefore we should support an establishment politician and thereby guarantee it.
