3,000 expected at US Sen. Bernie Sanders' Springfield presidential campaign rally

U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., is bringing his Democratic presidential campaign to Springfield today, Saturday, with an afternoon rally set for the MassMutual Center.

Sanders' campaign expects around 3,000 people to attend the rally, which was originally scheduled to take place outside Springfield City Hall.

Doors for the 2 p.m. event, which is free and open to the public, will open at 12:30 p.m. It will include a pre-program featuring other speakers, the campaign said.

Following the Springfield rally, the Vermont senator will head to the eastern part of the state for a 6 p.m. campaign event at the Boston Convention and Exposition Center.

Hope the weather helps turnout. Also hope that anyone who may end up in overflow in Springfield is prepared for the weather. (The Convention Center in Boston is so big, I can't imagine people having to be outside.)
