BERNIE BESTS BARACK IN BOSTON: The presidential contender is breaking Obama's records on the trail.

(snip)
More than 20,000 of its residents turned out for a Bernie Sanders rally at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday, no small feat even in a Democratic-leaning state.

The Vermont independent senator who is campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination appears to have broken a record for a primary candidate's audience in the state -- shooting past then-Sen. Barack Obama's rally of 10,000 people eight years ago, according to the Boston Globe.

(snip)
The senator has also exceeded another Obama marker by becoming the first candidate to reach 1 million online donations nearly five months earlier than the president did.

It is also the largest rally for a presidential primary candidate in recent Massachusetts history, topping 10,000 people drawn to Boston Common eight years ago by Barack Obama. In 1968, the Globe reported that Democratic presidential candidate Eugene McCarthy addressed 45,000 in Fenway Park.

McCarthy was anti-war during Vietnam.

America chose Nixon.

That's the tale they're telling.

One big problem. McCarthy wasn't the nominee. When he ran against LBJ and won in New Hampshire it caused LBJ to drop out and encouraged Bobby to run. Bobby was assassinated and the party machine ignored McCarthy and ran Hubert Humphrey who not only had a weird name but was a hawk who alienated the anti-war base of the party.

So the Dems triumphantly kicked the hippies out of their convention only to ultimately lose to Nixon.

push Bernie into a time past...when he is a time FUTURE who is Well Aquainted with our Past.

They want to paint him as a "fringe candidate." I think the "They" will lose this time with their stale, outworn "dog whistles" from the past.

Obama was Elected throwing out all the OLD WAYS of viewing Dem Political Candidates.. They said he couldn't win. He did.

They say Bernie Can't Win....let's give him Time!

If he'd been more like the 1948 version, he'd have done much better, IMO.

The Sanders campaign estimated 20,000 and stuck to that number, but I don't know why. Look at the photos. People are standing shoulder to shoulder, filling almost every inch of that space. The overflow was at least 5,000 to 7,000 as well.
