Bernie just had the lead 12 minutes or so of PoliticsNation with Rev Sharpton.

Last edited Sun Oct 11, 2015, 11:30 AM - Edit history (1)

It was a great interview, and Sharpton at one point, when bringing up the pushed meme about Bernie being bad with minorities came out with something like 'You, out of all of the candidates have the best record on civil rights by far'. Bernie embraced the 'socialist' label, he didn't run from it. He talked about the need to reform the justice system, to get young minorities into further education and jobs, not jails. He put forth his economic message clearly and civilly, and said 'That's a fair question' a number of times as he led into his answers. And, it just occurred to me, he actually ANSWERED every single question he was asked. He didn't simply pull the usual political BS almost every candidate pulls of essentially ignoring the questions to pivot and simply spit out talking points that they wanted out. What he said was a direct response to what he was asked.

I hope somebody gets the segment up on YouTube soon, and someone here can link it.

Bernies clear answers vs. Hillarys deflection and triangulation...should be a sharp contrast.

he's like a dog with a bone. He's good when he's been put on the spot. Hillary on the other hand has not been as good when someone surprises her.

Sharpton mostly asked Sanders the same questions everyone has already asked of him, but he also included pictures of Sanders leading protests re housing segregation from Sanders student days at the UofC

And that's perfectly fine with respect to introducing Sanders to the American public which apparently needs more exposure to Sanders 101.

That's one of the best interviews with Bernie I've seen. Rev. Al actually called him what he identifies as, a DEMOCRATIC Socialist, not trying to play the gotcha game by using just "Socialist" like most Corporate Owned MSM taking heads like to do - and all Hillary supporters do.

Bernie is going to dominate the debate tomorrow - if given a chance to speak.

I'll agree that the image I've seen of him is 'good', and the only personal negatives I've heard about him is that he's one of those alpha types who pushes people that work with him for perfection, and that people who don't live up to his standards call him 'as ass' and 'sanctimonious' and that he 'thinks he's better than them'. I'd suggest that it's a lack of false humility - he doesn't pretend he ISN'T better than them. He's certainly better than probably 95% of his Congressional colleagues, and doesn't waste time pretending their idiotic viewpoints are reasonable.

But even if he secretly tortured kittens in his offtime, the things he's pushing for the country are a far greater good for far more people, and I'll take that any day over the people who seem to be nice or good people, then turn around and push policies that enrich the few by exploiting the many. Policy beats personality by a mile in importance.

What's in his heart is what matters. He speaks for those less fortunate - the poor, the sick, the hungry, the unemployed, African Americans, women and children. He speaks out against Wall St. Thieves, Prisons for Profits, Wars, exorbitantly priced higher education and the militarized police forces. He defends us, the middle class. He's a good person. In his heart, he's GOOD. That's what's important.
