Warning This Is a Rant-

Last edited Wed Oct 21, 2015, 08:33 PM - Edit history (1)

WTF, All I see is how Hillary won the debate and how she's polling way above every one else etc etc etc. Are the citizens of this country so malleable that they will vote for the status quo candidates even when it is so Obvious that the status quo is a failure of Epic proportions, Climate destroyed, Inequality on both social and financial levels running rampant, America status in the world destroyed by wars of aggression for profit, Etc etc, And the Morons Are so scared of Change that they cling to the same old failed policies and politicians, Just gutless, Stand the F--k up like your forefathers and mothers for a better life for Your Self and for your Children, Dump the status quo.

P.S. Thank you all I feel a little Better now, For clarification the status quo in my mind has been in power since the 80's

25. Because the media was calling Gore a bully

and let's not forget that he was a boring candidate. Very low voter turnout.

2. I can feel your rant and pretty much agree

I do think you might need to take a chill pill. I live a pretty sequestered life so my interactions with the general public are a bit limited.
My political advocacy started in the run up to the clusterfuck that was the invasion of Iraq. It's just too damned easy for the average Joe and Jane to avoid the reality. Add to that the massive media influence to distract and entertain us to our own detriment.
What limited face to face interaction shows me is that even the most poorly informed know that they are being screwed, they just place the blame in the wrong place.
I feel pretty good about the possibility for change. The young kids are definitely not taking the status quo as being the best that they can get. Old farts like me who have no shit left to give aren't going to go down without a fight.
Even if the best we can do on the national stage is Clinton it's up to us to push for a government that supports the greatest good for everyone.

4. It's baffling to me

how anyone could call Clinton the winner of the debate.

There is nothing noone can say to ever get me to vote for clinton.supporters of her can call me liberal extremist and not a real dem
even though i voted every time from 1992 to 2014.

new memo seems to be today white voters are ilrelvent.um some whites still vote democrat.

It's clear the referee has a favorite.

18. Did you see how the Black Lives Matter question was presented to Bernie vs Hillary?

A tough question for Bernie, a gift to Hillary.

Hillary has been bought and paid for. They knew Hillary would win because it was decided beforehand.

They had to rush to hide all the polls and focus groups that showed Bernie won.

Here's the post and video.

Check out how Anderson Cooper gives Hillary a softball question different from the other candidates...

6. It's the media hype. It's not that bad, surprisingly, as seen with the huge support for Bernie.

I want to say that it is that bad, but Bernie's support has changed my mind.

When they killed the Fairness Doctrine, they severed America's spinal cord. People are still glued to their tv as if it were a truth box. That's the reason we still see "support" for a Clinton.

This doesn't even make logical sense. But when Bernie got the support he is getting, it told me everything. There's a huge silent majority out there.

Many are so duped they don't even know what they're looking for. Democracy is long dead, and people don't know it. But most of them still recognize it.

We're seeing manipulated polls. Why would GE tell the truth about polling if their media outlets don't even report news?

7. I'm with you. There are some people, however, who do not consider the Obama administration to be an

epic fail (if you compare my hopes for the Obama administration against the last 7 years, I see an epic fail; if you compare my expectations for the Obama administration against the last 7 years, I see a mixed record; if you compare my fear of what a Romney administration would have been like against the last 7 years, I see a brilliant triumph).

I think Clinton is not a bad choice for those who would be happy with a third Obama term. Personally, I want something better. I want an administration that fulfills the hopes that Obama inspired seven years ago and fell short of delivering. I want Sanders.

9. if the measure is performed beter than expected...yes hilary won the debate

a main reason i do not as a rule watch the debates.
Every reaction to what is said in the debate is processes thru the adoring supporters lenses.

Kind of like going to a big rock concert of a group you truly love

they may be slightly off key, and look really tired because this is the 12th show in 12 nights...but to you in the audience....best concert ever...and you will defend that to the death....

in every school play every parent thinks their child carried the whole production and delivered a performance worth of a tony....

does it really matter???????

10. Is it citizens or corporate media controlling the message of "who won" and "who is polling higher?"

It's media. They do it for ratings and because they prefer the status quo.

Good rant. But I think the malleable electorate votes for celebrity and/or approachability. Since Bill Clinton, at least.

BTW, sometimes it's not so much about winning the debate as it is not losing it

I thought Debate One was a stalemate. Each candidate (Sanders and Clinton) showed well in the eyes of their respective supporters. But more importantly for Democrats, neither Sanders nor Clinton lost.

I donated to Sanders immediately after because I want his message to be a force in this election. Maybe it will wake-up this malleable electorate. I'll vote for him in the California primary.

11. When the establishment media declares the establishment candidate the winner . . .

. . . anyone who is a bit jaundiced is probably right.

Especially when there is a strong anti-establishment candidate who did at least as well as the establishment candidate and whom the establishment media pretends not to see and expects the rest of us to pretend not to see, too.

We're having none of it.

Establishment, your days are numbered. ExxonMobil or Goldman Sachs or Koch Industries have no more right to rule us than Caesars or Bourbons or Romanovs.

12. Let me join you....

Fuck pragmatism, fuck electability, fuck political parties, fuck polls

I'm voting my principles this go round. Whether it's enough or not, I really don't give a good God damn. By the time the election comes around, my vote is the only thing resembling political power or speech I will have left. I'm not just going to give it away to the smiling slimy corporate gladhands because of allegiance to a party or because my candidate can't win. You know how my candidate can't win? If I don't vote for him.

If the sorry state of this country, of this pathetic ineffectual political party - and I say that as a loyal Democratic voter for most of my adult life - is good enough for you, just raise your hand so I can put you on ignore.

13. Despite all of the evidence to the contrary,

the corporate media was able to convince enough Americans that George W. Bush was qualified to be President that he was able to steal the election -- twice. The candidates the media favors have a huge advantage. This time around they want Hillary to be the Dem.nominee, and even if she stood on the debate stage and drooled, it would make no difference. She'd still be declared the winner.

14. Actually, this is all because we are ALREADY an oligarchy . . .

. . . and have been one for some time. Amazingly we already have the man we need: Bernie. But it is ALL up to our 75,000,000 millennials - if they show up at the primaries, our country has a chance. Otherwise kiss democracy good-bye and prepare your passports for Canada.

16. Information that gets filtered by a gatekeeper is subject to manipulation. The spontaneous online

polls which reflected a broad cross section of individual opinions were overwhelming landslides for Bernie.

Funny how only the polls that are "compiled" and "interpreted" by human beings working for big companies are against Bernie.

17. I will acknowledge

that there are Clinton supporters who like her positions, thinks she is a nice person, and will be effective. What worries me is that there may be many of her supporters who only care about how she presents herself or that she is a woman with complete disregard for anything else. Sigh

19. The Beltway Media claimed '08 was going to be Hillary vs Rudy....

This year they wanted it to be a Clinton vs a Bush with the Bush winning this time.

They feel it would bring balance to the universe or some such nonsense. Feeds into their "it's a 50/50 country" nonsense.

30. Yea, its not worth the stress to argue with people who have already made up their minds for Hillary.

I tend to stay far away from GD-P and other cesspools of negativity. What I have been trying to focus on lately is spreading the word about Bernie to people who may not know of him. Its a good way to de-stress from the bullshit and do something positive to help Bernie. I've actually noticed over the past couple of weeks that more people in my neighborhood have been sporting Bernie bumper stickers, so what we (and he) have been doing is working! We just gotta keep up the struggle!

Continue to take deep breaths. We're in this together.
