Bernie was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY!
It's about time we had a president born and raised in what would be the 4th largest city in the US (and it's only a borough).

National League loyalty (Dodgers...hello?) and stuff. The only Brooklynite I know who rooted for the Yankees as a child is Giuliani.

Bernie, of course, might not give a shit. But, if he did, he wouldn't be pulling for the Royals.

when it comes to baseball, but people in my neck of the woods are going crazy.

Famous franchise. Pretty cool that the MLB team connected with them via their name actually. There's even a Brooklyn connection; Jackie Robinson started out there.
