Top Clinton Aide Says Sanders Could Outraise Them in December

http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/trackers/2015-12-22/top-clinton-aide-says-sanders-could-outraise-them-in-december

“Bernie Sanders’ campaign is on track to outraise us this month,” says Robby Mook, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager in fundraising e-mail.

“When we go into our first contests in Iowa and New Hampshire, we might not have the resources we’ll need to really compete”

Mook notes Sanders is said to have more individual contributors than any previous presidential campaign

I can't imagine why. I did find this top definition in the Urban Dictionary:

mook

Coined in the Scorsese film, 'Mean Streets', meaning a arsehole or loser.

But I'm sure that has no bearing on his surname. That's just silly and childish.

7. Yup. I even got to get in some good stuff about Bernie with one of my sisters the other day.

I didn't have much time, as my phone battery was dying, but we had a good talk about President Carter, and we discussed how Bernie is very much like our beloved peanut farmer (we both think the world of the Carters).

I've got her thinking about voting for Bernie! I know she doesn't like Hillary, so it's not going to take much. Now, to work on the other sister! (And talk with the two brothers, one of whom votes, and baby sister who doesn't vote.)

Still got time to change the world, peeps!

5. Worried enough to send quadruple bypass Bill out in winter weather!

In case you haven't seen my previous posts on this topic, HRC's campaign scheduled Bill for TWENTY fundraisers in the month of December alone. Can his health stand it? He's canceled 2 of these at the very last minute - one with no excuse at all, and the other because an old colleague had just died -although there's no record that there was any kind of memorial service for same on the days before, of or after the fundraiser. Maybe it wasn't Bill's health - perhaps it was because (despite cutting the admission price for the fundraisers in half), there was too little response.

Here's what the American Heart Association has to say about the dangers of cold weather for people with heart disease.

It’s important to know how cold weather can affect your heart, especially if you have cardiovascular disease. Some people who are outdoors in cold weather should avoid sudden exertion, like lifting a heavy shovel full of snow. Even walking through heavy, wet snow or snow drifts can strain some people's heart.

How does cold weather affect the heart?
Many people don't know the potential dangers of being outdoors in cold weather. Winter sports enthusiasts who don't take certain precautions can suffer accidental hypothermia.

Hypothermia means the body temperature has fallen below 35 degrees Celsius or about 95 degrees Fahrenheit. It occurs when your body can't produce enough energy to keep the internal body temperature warm enough. It can kill you. Symptoms include lack of coordination, mental confusion, slowed reactions, shivering and sleepiness.

Children and the elderly are at special risk because they may have limited ability to communicate or impaired mobility. Elderly people may also have lower subcutaneous fat and a diminished ability to sense temperature so they can suffer hypothermia without knowing they're in danger.

People with coronary heart disease often suffer angina pectoris (chest pain or discomfort) when they're in cold weather.

Bill Clinton will be 70 years old next year and suffers from major coronary heart disease.
Dr. Clyde Yancy, a cardiologist at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and president of the American Heart Association, agreed.

There's no cure for the heart disease that has twice forced the former president to get blocked arteries fixed.

Treatments like the quadruple bypass surgery Clinton had in 2004 last about a decade on average. Then the blood vessels used to create detours around the clogged arteries start to get blocked, too.

One such blockage sent Clinton to the hospital in 2012. Instead of fixing it, doctors reopened the original clogged artery and placed two mesh props called stents to keep it open. On average, a bypass operation lasts 10 years," Brindis said. "He's a little early for having a problem, but not that early."

Clinton also in the past has partly blamed his heart problems on genetics. There is a history of heart disease in his mother's family. He also has admitted being careless about his diet, has had high blood pressure and before his bypass, had stopped taking a cholesterol-lowering drug he'd been prescribed.

It's something he's likely to need again, heart experts say. "This kind of disease is chronic, incurable and progressive. It's not a one-time event so it really points out the need for constant surveillance," he said.

Why would someone with a history of heart disease stop taking a cholesterol lowering drug?

The blood test for a total cholesterol level measures blood cholesterol in all lipoproteins combined. Men with a total cholesterol greater than 240 mg/dl have a 2.7-fold increased risk for having moderate to severe erectile dysfunction. This makes an elevated serum cholesterol one of the most important risk factors for the subsequent development of erectile dysfunction.

Blood Fats Including Cholesterol and their Effect on Erectile Dysfunction

Our discussion centers on the effects of lipid disorders on erectile dysfunction. It's been well documented that high lipids or high total cholesterol are commonly associated with erectile dysfunction. In many men with erectile dysfunction, hypercholesterolemia is the only risk factor seen.

Plus the other baggage does not go well with women's rights. Neither do war and fracking and the TPP and cluster bombs, but hey! who's keeping track? I think that newly-involved voters are more likely to turn out for the primaries, and they look this stuff up.
I certainly bring it up when I talk about Bernie.

6. It is kinda funny how Clinton supporters are trying to make the data breach into a "Benghazi".

Lesson not learned from the actual Benghazi hearings, of course. Or the emailgate hearings.
Sort of like "Ooh! There's a trick! Let's use it!" - forgetting how that all turned out.
