Check out new before & after nighttime satellite images of Puerto Rico

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41392940

Millions of people in Puerto Rico remain without electricity in the wake of Hurricane Maria, a new image taken by a US government satellite shows.

Outside the capital city San Juan, residents are still isolated without power or communications, which could take weeks to restore.

Clean water and medicine are also scarce, locals report.

3. I thought the entire island had no power.

I guess there are more generators than I'd have thought.

4. San Juan was obviously a priotity since it's a staging area for the rest of the island.

Faint lights are obviously areas with generators. However, look at all the towns on the south coast and in the interior that have disappeared completely. This shot is sobering, to say the least.
