Let's talk Amy McGrath into running for McConnell's seat in 2020.

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Omaha Steve (a host of the Democratic Primaries forum).

Here is Amy McGrath's facebook page. (still looking for a direct email address). Chuck Schumer has been talking to her about running for McConnell's seat in 2020.

Here's more about her:

Here's where she stands on issues:

Here is my post to her. It could help her decide if she hears from a bunch of DU'er's. This is not a KY fight, this is a national battle.

Hi Amy,
PLEASE run in the 2020 senate race against McConnell. We need you badly! When we elect a Democrat as president (and we will), they will by stymied by McConnell's obstruction and partisanship. We cannot allow this country to continue on the current disastrous path.
You would have incredible support nationwide. McConnell polls in the low 30's in KY. You can beat him!
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

you are correct, her support is national, from a Democrat in AZ.

Is there an official email address I should use? I found one under Office Locations. Are they staffed to receive calls of support or volunteers via the telephone or voice mail?

Don't know that email addy would still work. It was set up when she was running for Congress last year.

and support his republican opponent first.

So we get two shots at getting rid of him.

I was horrifically upset when she lost the Congressional race here in KY 6th because she needed over 80% of the Lexington vote (got 70%+) to overcome the rural areas and small towns.

The one good thing about a statewide election is that Louisville would be in there too, and that city is very blue! Lexington is still blue, just not the necessary 80%. Put both cities together and there is a slight chance of beating McConnell IMO.

Although I don't live in KY, I just received a letter from KY Dems in the snail mail today. I'm going to contact them about encouraging Amy to run against him. They must get behind her. She's tops, our top gun in this race!
