Ocasio-Cortez defends Warren for her past hourly legal fees

https://thehill.com/homenews/house/445186-ocasio-cortez-defends-elizabeth-warrens-past-hourly-legal-fee

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Thursday defended Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) for the hourly fees the Massachusetts lawmaker charged for past legal consulting.

Ocasio-Cortez linked to a Washington Post article on Warren's fees, asking the publication to now report on how much money presidential candidates had accepted from “Wall Street, Big Pharma, & Fossil Fuel.”

"Now do the amount of Wall Street, Big Pharma, & Fossil Fuel [money] presidential candidates accepted over their careers & how much they’re taking now."

BREAKING NEWS: Lady Had A Job, Got Paid More Than Me

Nice work. Now do the amount of Wall Street, Big Pharma, & Fossil Fuel presidential candidates accepted over their careers & how much they’re taking now.

— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) May 23, 2019

Warren’s presidential campaign released a list of 56 cases she advised while a Harvard professor on her website Wednesday night.

Lol, somewhere between law school and tending bar, she developed a hell of a way with words!

Absolutely perfect.

And that may be on purpose, not knocking the Tweet at all - but it should be "paid more than I" - there is an implicit verb there, "did", and so if it was not shortened, it would be, "got paid more than I did".

However, I'm probably being overly picky, because it would sound pretty stuffy if she subbed in "I" for "me".

Commas and periods are supposed to be nested inside the quotation marks.

There should be no comma before "because."

The "em-dash" is properly written as two consecutive hyphens -- unless, of course, you want to make up your own rules.

And why shouldn't they? They spend years amassing experience, education and connections.

If a consultant came in too cheap, I would question their abilities. Good consultants know what they are worth.

On edit: LOVE the AOC and Warren vid!
