Democratic Primaries

Damn!
Find yourself a spouse who looks at somebody threatening you, like @douglasemhoff glares at the dude who grabbed the mike away from @KamalaHarris.
When the protestor rushed @KamalaHarris at the @MoveOn event, Harris husband @douglasemhoff helped pull the guy off stage.

(34,195 posts)I watched the video* of the incident,
and there were several women who first confronted the man.
Then one or two men came on stage to assist.
Harris's husband may have 'glared' him down,
but again,
it was several women who first confronted the man.
Was there no security?
Are our candidates not being protected?
Does no one remember what happened to Robert Kennedy in California in 1968?

She was really on the ball but she shouldn't have been put in that position. The others were completely caught off guard and were too slow to react. If this guy had meant Harris harm it already would've been too late by the time they got to him.

(53,410 posts)Kamala Harris husband was there in seconds along with others and they dragged the guy out before he even had a chance to finish one sentence.
This incident will also serve to beef up security for all the candidates from now on. And yes, it also serves to show that women arent shrinking little violets waiting to be assaulted or unwilling to come to the rescue of a fellow woman.

(53,410 posts)Youre implying that Kamalas husband did something wrong. Thats not the case. He and whoever ran out with him were further away.

(14,302 posts)because they got there first? Im not sure what the point of emphasizing women is, when thats who was on stage to begin with. The men were off stage, so they took a few more seconds to get there.
Good on everyone who helped. The protestor hurt his cause IMO.

Good on all the women who came to the rescue, and Kamala's husband, Douglas Emoff.

(23,094 posts)We've been together for 37 years and since I've had some major health issues this year, his protectiveness has really come to the fore. HE'd have been dragging the guy out and yelling at him while he did it. So glad Kamala's husband has that same love and protective attitude too. Good for him and good for them.
