Joe BidenCongratulations to our presumptive Democratic nominee, Joe Biden!

Warren moves up AGAIN in DU Primary Ticker!

Congratulations to Warren and her supporters here on DU, Liz is now at 13% in the DU Primary Preference Poll!

The Iowa Poll results released just yesterday give an indication why Warren's support is steadily increasing:

"Warren is on a growth trajectory

Selzer is considered one of the most skilled pollsters when it comes to surveying Iowa's electorate. What makes her especially effective is that her surveys consistently illustrate who's on the move, up or down.

And though it is eight months before the caucuses, Warren is the candidate on the move. She has a higher net favorable rating than any other candidate in the field; 71 percent see her favorably, while just 17 percent see her unfavorably. That's a better ratio than Biden, Sanders and Buttigieg.

An equal number of Democratic voters, 61 percent, say they are actively considering or backing Warren and Biden, the highest rates in the field. That's 5 points higher than those who say Sanders is on their ticket and 9 points higher than both Buttigieg and Harris."

Again, congratulations to Warren and her supporters and, actually, to all of us Democrats since Warren would make a stellar nominee in 2020!

1. Yeah. She's Doing OK out in the Real World, Too.

She's gonna give Bernie Sanders a strong challenge, I think.

2. I think she will be the Nominee in 2020

I know it's early, but every political instinct I have is telling me that Warren will end up being our nominee in 2020.

Time will tell.

3. Gosh my instinct says no way

She doesn't have the African American support. Personally I don't think she can beat Trump, and I know lots of people who think the same. Democrats aren't going to vote for someone who they think will lose.

DU is in no way an indication of what Democrats as a whole think or how they vote.

5. Elizabeth Warren is moving up in general polls also.

Not just on DU. Latest Iowa poll has her almost even with Sanders. I think Biden will ultimately prevail but we underestimate Warren at our own peril.

6. Yes, I know. I've read that but she is taking away from Sanders support

Which is great IMO.

8. And what anybody thinks today is no indication of what they will think 3 months from now.

I think it's fair to say that very few people vote for someone who they think will lose. Campaigns have crumbled on a single mistake. It almost happened to him this week. If something like that happens to Biden again, suddenly he might not be so electable and the field will be wide open for the 2nd tier.

16. Your instincts are wrong

Your personal beliefs and that of your friends are no indication of what's happening. She is moving up in the state polls and nationally as well. She has run the best campaign so far according to every pundit and is reaching people at the grassroots level according to those she talks to. She can win black voters as well as the white working class.

17. she doesn't right now but unlike some other candidates she gets a positive reaction

among black audiences .

so she would have more potential to win those votes from Biden.

15. You're spouting a RW talking point there

It didn't hurt her with Native Americans as many, including Sharice Davids, backed her on the issue. Not has it hurt her with Democrats, so not sure where you gettign that information unless it's from Faux News. It was a minority of blogger activist types and one unelected official who tried to give it legs and tRump and the RW ran with it. Democrats shouldn't be helping them.

BTW, Warren is moving up in every poll and has not one but three complimentary pieces about her in the main political sites today.

18. I've been here at DU since 2001... look it up in my profile

and no one has ever accused me of spouting right wing talking points or getting my information from Fox news.
The OK in my name stands for Oklahoma, so don't tell me that it didn't hurt her with Native Americans.

What I post on DU is my personal opinion. She won't win the nomination. God I hope not because she can't beat Trump.
Here are the three who IN MY OPINION can beat Trump: Biden, Harris and O'Roark.

ETA: For what it's worth I agree with Sharice Davids. It doesn't bother me at all that she thought she was part Indian (we say Indian here in OK. I see you are from here so you know that) What I am saying is Warren was injured by the whole thing, more so by the DNA test because it showed some political naivete'. I like Warren. My beliefs are totally based on how I project her strength in the general.

20. It is a right wing talking point whether you like it or not

I grew up in Oklahoma too, know Native Americans and I read, so yeah, so I can tell you Native Americans support her and the whole thing was oveblown in voters minds.

Here's one on voters lack of concern with that "issue":
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/18/us/politics/elizabeth-warren-native-american.html

Here's an article on her warm welcome at a NA conference where she got a standing ovation:
"Warren received a standing ovation from tribal leaders and other Native attendees as she approached the stage."
More:
"She could barely make it through the crowd of about 150 people as she was trying to leave, with attendees swarming her for photos and hugs by the door. Before she left, NCAI President Jefferson Keel and National Indian Gaming Association Chairman Ernie Stevens Jr. greeted her and took several photos with her. Prior to the event, the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center also presented Warren with a Native American shawl to thank her for her work on the Violence Against Women Act."

“It’s important that we show our support for her. We’re not in the room yet,” said Brenda Toineeta Pipestem, a former NIWRC board member and currently a tribal Supreme Court justice. “We have to rely on our allies to fight for us behind closed doors and on the floor of the Senate to protect our Native American women and children.”

10. I saw the increase, it's terrific. Warren has great plans, she connects with

people, is qualified and also very personable as you can see from her campaign events in WVa., Iowa, Michigan, Indiana, Utah and more. And Warren's a very determined hard worker who has a record of getting things done. She is an outstanding, well rounded and first rate candidate.

11. Some of you people here are out of touch with reality

Liz Warren is moving up in the polls and after the first debate she will move up more. She is talking about leveling the playing field for the working class and poor. You want to bash her that's fine because the people who are against her most are big business and the elites on wall street who will be spending millions of dollars to stop her. I don't want to talk bad about any Democrat because whoever it is I will support and plan to go to Pennsylvania to help the nominee but Biden is the past and a two time loser in the primaries and we need fresh ideas and Warren has a plan for all of America. I have never been a registered Democrat or Republican and listening to Liz just tells me how smart she is and her passion to help this country. We are not talking about a career politician here. She was drafted by the Obama Administration to start the Consumer Protection Agency and then drafted by the Democratic Party to run for Senate.

13. I think the debates will be a real eye-opener.

Warren is knowledgable, prepared, wicked smart and an excellent communicator. She can take big issues, boil them down to their everyday impacts on Everyman, and then present a Plan.

She's the opposite of tRump and there could never be a better time or a greater need for that.
