Serious question: If a Democratic President will not work with the GOP, what WILL they do?

How would that work? How would appointments, policies, day-to-day functioning of both the administration and the governance happen?

Would the new president throw down and insist that it's their way or the highway? Would they try to force and challenge and obstruct anything that is brought up by the Republicans?

I'm serious. What would happen? Not what did happen at some point in the last few years but now?

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

It's not that a Democratic President shouldn't be willing to work with Republicans. It's that Republicans will NEVER work with a Democratic President.

They just dont get many headlines. Russian sanctions passed with only a few "nyet" votes.
Any candidate who says they refuse to work with the GOP on ANYTHING just shows themselves to be no better than the GOP. Doesnt mean you have to agree on EVERYTHING either.
And they will likely lose Independent votes for having such a ridiculous position.

both sides. We do nothing to penetrate that perception when we criticize Biden’s call for unity and his reluctance to vilify Republicans. Let him put out hope for greater bipartisan efforts. A majority of the electorate wants to see Dems and Republicans find common ground when and if they can.

For the presidential nominee, we need Obama progressive leadership, not AOC progressive leadership. The kind that makes people if all beliefs feel understood and people can trust. Not activist leadership that activates mostly the base.

She is great, she is a leader. Over time she will learn first hand how critical votes are from Dems in West Virginia, Arizona, Ohio and other purple and red areas.

AOC, Bernie and Trump showed how radical populism can work to win voters.

But AOC comes from a hyper diverse community. Other Dems don't. Joe knows how to campaign with a populism that activates with hope the swing voters from non diverse areas. To a degree so does Warren, I think.

But next gen type Dems are way more ready for culture change that I want than the key voters that we need to gain power to lead the change.

We need AOC types, but we need a strategic vision along with energy and activism.

The alternative is civil unrest.

It's hard but we must demand elected leaders try to work together.

Democracy dies if we don't

Problem is only one party cares about protecting Democracy anymore.

Just wait till neither party cares, and we see a race to one party domination. The GOP will will that race because thats where all the authoritarian type have moved.
