Top Sanders adviser says brokered convention 'definitely' possible

David Sirota, a top advisor on Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) presidential campaign, told Hill.TV on Wednesday that a contested Democratic convention could happen in 2020.

“You definitely have the potential to have a convention where there are multiple candidates with multiple groups of delegates and there’s a fight at the convention,” Sirota said during an interview on “Rising.”

“So I’m not necessarily saying that’s going to happen but it’s not always a winner take all system,” he continued.

Sirota added Sanders is already well-positioned in the crowded Democratic field.

“Sanders being so well-known, his agenda being so clear, and his agenda being distinct from so many of the other candidates puts him in a very, very good position ... to win the nomination,” he told Hill.TV.

A bit premature in my opinion. The field will thin out as the primary season unfolds.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

1. If it goes to a brokered convention, it is highly UNlikely Bernie will be seen as a consensus choice

The last brokered convention occurred in 1952 when Democrats nominated Adlai Stevenson after three ballots.

I dont believe it'll happen, despite 20+candidates, the majority who wont win a single primary or caucus.

It would be a bad thing for our chances if it did happen...thus another reason we wont see one.

This is just something the media would like to happen, so they promote this everyfour years as a possibility.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
