(4,516 posts)time. The lies told about her, being hunted and tombstoned from DU for 4 months is still painful.
It's one reason I can't stand the fact that Bernie is running again. I will vote for what ever Dem is nominated and I hope it is Kamala Harris.
So I am not interested in seeing candidates attack each other this year.

(9,874 posts)120 minutes with about half that time spent asking the questions and include pauses for the cameras to move and it leaves maybe 60 minutes for answers by the candidates divided by 10 = 6 minutes each at best. What the hell can you tell about anyone who gets a total of 6 minutes to explain their positions on several issues?

(2,343 posts)--Have 4 or 5 debates over7 or 10 days, much like an NBA championship series
--Have voters vote 'American idol' style on who gets cut from subsequent debates after each night
--Have voters submit questions
--Have a 'losers'' bracket for those that are cut
--Get a group of voters who would commit to watch and vote on who gets to re-enter the main debate.
This would essentially be a double-elimation debate tournament, of sorts. All candidates would get a shot. The goal would be to get the number of candidates down to 6 or 8 or so. Then, normal debate scheduling would resume.
It could be set up to encourage voter engagement by allowing them to ask questions, vote on questions to ask, letting them vote on debate winners, etc.
This would NOT replace primaries...only hopefully improve debate formats.
Anyway, a few thoughts.
