Rosario Dawson and Boyfriend Cory Booker Stay Full and 'Energized' on a Raw Vegan Diet

Before Rosario Dawson and her boyfriend, 2020 presidential candidate Cory Booker, started dating earlier this year, they already had a major thing in common — their vegan diets.

Booker went vegan almost 20 years ago, and Dawson, too, is a fan after discovering how good she feels on the plant-based diet.

“I’m mostly vegan and raw these days for my health and peace of mind,” she tells PEOPLE. “I rest better, I feel better, with less inflammation and more flexibility. I feel full without feeling uncomfortable or tired afterwards. I love the energy.”

we are at our best when we eat a variety of foods, including quality proteins from meat, colorful fruits and vegs - especially leafy greens, good carbs like whole grains and a bit of fat too.

of course you can get plenty of protein from plants but it isn't as easy and it sure doesn't taste as good. (hence the market for fake meats)

food and eating and the discussion about animal welfare is complex, but thinking one answer is THE answer is usually wrong.

On April 15, 2016, Dawson was among the protesters arrested during Democracy Spring in Washington, D.C.[30]

In the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Dawson endorsed U.S. Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein, saying she could not support either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, as she felt they were for the elites.[31]

Sorry, doesn't speak well for her critical thinking.

That was about a decade ago.

My sister in Seattle told me a Portlandia-type story about she and a friend at a restaurant. The waiter asks them if they'd like dessert and tells them about the specials, ice cream and cakes and so on. My sister launches into an explanation of how she can't have the ice cream because she's lactose intolerant and nothing with flour because of gluten intolerance and her friend tells him about her food intolerances and all the things she can't eat. Afterward they wondered, "Why couldn't we just have said, 'No, thank you'?"
