Warren, Buttigieg surge in SC 2020 Democratic presidential poll as Biden still leads

https://www.postandcourier.com/politics/warren-buttigieg-surge-in-sc-democratic-presidential-poll-as-biden/article_0a351cee-8f77-11e9-a29c-9fe60d10303b.html

Former Vice President Joe Biden holds a commanding 20-point lead in the 2020 South Carolina Democratic presidential primary, but his post-announcement advantage is shrinking — and he has a surprising new set of top challengers.

Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg have emerged as the next two choices after Biden in the early voting state, according to a new Post and Courier-Change Research Poll of likely Democratic primary voters released Sunday.

They supplanted Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and California Sen. Kamala Harris, who have been trending down in recent national polls.

Sanders took a big hit over previous S.C. polls falling from second to fourth. Harris’ numbers have not changed dramatically. Instead, others have leapfrogged the race’s leading African American candidate.

-snip-

Poll results, which might actually show Sanders in 5th place, since both he and Harris are at 9% but his name is below hers so there's apparently a decimal point difference.

(Editing to add that this could just be due to their names being alphabetized -- see reply 1 below. I did check the link for the poll results that I give below, but there are no more specific poll results including decimal points there, and you have to pay to get more complete poll results that might, or might not, include decimal points.)

Joe Biden — 37%

Elizabeth Warren — 17%

Pete Buttigieg — 11%

Kamala Harris — 9%

Bernie Sanders — 9%

Editing to add that Biden's support has slipped from a high of 46% to 37%. But that's still as much support as Warren, Buttigieg and Sanders combined. Still a commanding lead.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Not necessarily. I think they simply list statistical ties alphabetically, which is typical. Note also that all the 1% and 0% are listed alphabetically, except Gravel, which I suspect is an editing error, because it would be ridiculously coincidental if all the other 0% and 1% and 9% candidates' numbers all all aligned with their ending up perfectly alphabetical except for him!

Interesting to see Yang break out of the cellar.

Surprising to see De Blasio ahead of, well, anyone. But this doesn't seem to bode well for Castro, Inslee, etc.

Funny how that gets left out, but a cheap shot at sanders is always there.
