Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumIf one more person tells me or insinuates who I should support..
I may actually blow a gasket.. seriously.. I do not tell people who they should support or why.. do I let people know why I support someone.. absolutely, and I am interested in why other people have their candidate of choice.. but I do not get in someones space and have the unmitigated gall to tell them who they should support..
I am so sick of the pretentious, self righteous ,only my way or the highway muddle, that my inner peacetrain is almost off the rails..
Our people will either be selected or rejected on how they connect with the voters.. period.. stop..
And if Biden, or Sanders, or Warren, or Buttigieg, or Harris (that is where most of the vote is today June 26, 2019) cannot make their case.. well guess what.. they are not going to be the candidate who will go on to represent the Democratic Party..
rant off..

(29,199 posts)would see all of the candidate be at least cordial with each other as they state their positions, never disparaging other democrats.
And that we would all support our chosen candidates with money and our votes... and let the best person win... and then we would all line up behind whoever wins the nomination and give that person our whole hearted support to defeat the republicans (not just Trump, but all republicans everywhere).

(22,875 posts)2008 and 2016 just yet.. that was a different kind of hell.. but those special little talks you get from the elites can be just galling.. I am already getting commitment letters for caucus.. and I never commit till Sept.. after a few debates.. I know who I support.. but I still kick the tires if you get my drift..

(94,503 posts)...based on forty years of political experience, in depth research, and personal meetings, I may choose to let people know, because that's the sort of thing we do here. But be assured, I'm certainly not telling YOU.

(27,995 posts)I attend monthly meetings with other Dems in my AZ legislative district as well as interacting with fellow Dems online. Most, like me, seem to like several candidates and current favorites seem to fluctuate. I haven't felt any pressure to pick a candidate whatsoever. We are 9 months away from our state's primary.
Are you in an early primary state?
From whom is this "pressure" that you feel to get in line for Biden coming from?

(81,455 posts)You take a poll before the debates, you declare a winner and you tell everyone to drop out - the idea is to give the winner the peace of mind and a chance to be well rested before the general election

(47,470 posts)I do, however, read many posts here of individuals expressing their supports for candidates and their reasons. We all, of course, are free to "listen," to debate and and to draw our own conclusion.
Really, this is so basic that I am not even sure what is the point. But, perhaps, I am missing something - happens sometimes.
