I don't want to hear badmouthing about Kamala Harris' record as a prosecutor

Kamala is a VERY progressive Senator. Progressive punch ranks her as the MOST progressive Senator.

https://progressivepunch.org/scores.htm?house=senate

Her record as a prosecutor - being tough on crime - will be an ASSET in the general election especially against someone as blustery as Trump. While her previous career isn’t going to win her points with some members of our Democratic coalition, it absolutely is going to win her points with the crucial independents and centrist republicans who want someone other than Trump.

We need to think not just about the primary but about the general. Kamala will make one hell of a progressive President. And I’d bet money she will push DOJ to explore Trump corruption that he’s sweeping under the rug.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I believe she has addressed all the criticisms as her role as AG and I dont think she has ever apologized or admitted mistakes. She simply states that these were the correct decisions at the time and has no regrets.

Running an AG’s office requires dealing with staff, constant media pressure, the public, budgets, legislators and policy. Her ability to talk to a jury is a major plus because she can construct arguments based on common sense.
Senators don’t run large offices and are one out 100. It doesn’t mean you can’t be a great president with only Senatorial experience (President Obama) but her executive experience in her past positions is a positive.

Our candidates need to understand that their past and their positions are going to be misconstrued in all directions.

Kamala in particular would benefit from early practice in defending her past in likable fashion because IMO instincts on the fly are not exactly her greatest strength. She needs to know which words/themes to use and which ones to avoid.

For example, if Hillary had merely said hate groups instead of deplorables she possibly could have survived the Comey letter and won narrowly instead of losing narrowly.

Again, I'll use the Marcia Clark example of a tough aggressive prosecutor who was accustomed to always being on offense and had no idea how to react once she was unexpectedly and unfairly on defense. Clark could have used a practice trial and essentially a primary season. Kamala Harris receives it. It is a win, not a loss.
