Kamala backtracked quite a bit in her after debate interview with Tweety Bird. I think she knows she went too far. Biden has a lot of supporters and that includes older African Americans who lived through the period and recognize the complexities--as well as Biden's full record as a civil rights supporter.

If I were to vote in a presidential

She did well with the "food fight" break in and her comments after that... showed empathy and smarts, and got a great return from the audience.

Then she went over the top with her weak sauce "hurtful words" comment.

I guarantee no one she ever prosecuted was convicted by a jury because she argued they said something that upset her.

Most of his damage was self-inflicted, due to how he tried to justify his past decision. He could have just said he made a mistake and he now sees the issue differently, and that would have been it.

Kamala had every right to respond as she did; without bussing, she wouldn’t have been on that stage. But she clearly stated afterward that she has great expect for Biden. I think she handled it well, and I don’t think this will damage the Biden campaign all that much. Joe is much more than one decision or one statement.

Harris' parents were both PHds, she lived in Berkeley as a child, and graduated from high school in Westmount, Quebec, which is one of the richest neighborhoods in Canada...

was a self-inflicted headshot.

Bennet lit Biden up too, with the (to paraphrase) 'it was a terrible deal you made with McConnell because the tax cuts were permanent' jab. Even hapless Bernie got in his only good shot (about the Biden's Iraq War vote).

Not a good night for Joe.

Still, it is a looooooong campaign, and he is still the front-runner.

I think she made a big mistake in what she did taking on Biden.

She wounded him but didn't murder him. And in the end it will be her that is more wounded.

That is my prediction. I am so disappointed in her and think she might have a little bump amongst black voters but then overall support and donations will drop.

Biden will survive. She likely won't.

Harris challenged Biden. She came out ahead, in many, but not all, minds. I was impressed with her entire debate performance, not just that one interchange.

But Biden was not mortally wounded. He had a bad night; she had a good one. The campaign goes on.
