Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumWhy VP Biden has my respect.. He never lets anyone disrespect Pres Obama
Not even in his own debate situation.. he has had his back from day one and will not back down..
Former Vice President Joe Biden pushed back against NBC debate moderator Chuck Todd after Todd said President Obama was unable to achieve his major climate goals.
I think you so underestimate what Barack Obama did, Biden said. He was the first man to bring together the entire world, 196 nations to come together to commit to deal with climate change so I dont buy that.
Biden was referencing Obamas work in convening the Paris climate accord. President Trump pledged to remove the U.S. from the agreement, and Biden and several other candidates have said they would recommit the U.S. to the accord on day one.

(296,875 posts)Leave it to ol chuckietodd to say something completely devoid of fact and simultaneously diss President Obama. And, I just wonder why Obama wasn't able to achieve more on his agenda? Hmm? Couldn't be because of a major asshole named mitch mcconellll?
Good on Biden! I'm going to go look for Climate Goals achieved under Obama now..

He is always able to come to the defense of others so much better than he does for himself.. That is why I know he would be such a good President..because you have to do that.. not for your own glory..but for the betterment of everyone else.. You may get a lot of mud and dirt on you and people look down on you for digging us out of the hole, that the republicans put us in every time.. but we have been so blessed to have people like President Obama, VP Biden, Jimmy Carter etc.. makes me proud to be a Democrat!

(296,875 posts)Thats why under President Obamas leadership, the United States has done more to combat climate change than ever before, while growing the economy. In fact, since the President took office, carbon emissions have decreased 9 percent, while the U.S. economy grew more than 10 percent.
Much more...

So much was being done and then it all came to a screeching halt.
We have to get it back

(2,471 posts)Or hiding behind Obama's apron strings.
Criticism of Biden and his record is not criticism of Obama.
More importantly Obama is not the sweet baby Jesus. No one is above criticism. Biden, while he was VP, advocated for deep cuts to social programs in order to make a "grand bargain" with republicans. Thank goodness the republicans never took him up on that offer.
Both Biden and Obama deserve criticism for making that offer. And saying that doesn't mean I don't think Obama wasn't an important president.

(22,872 posts)One of the greatest Presidents ever.. and the greatest in my lifetime is President Barack Obama...They were able to do something not even Roosevelt could do.. access to Insurance for everyone.. of course the Republicans and their sycophants have been tearing at its seams, setting up roadblocks.. to destroy the ACA from day one.. They... President Obama and VP Biden deserve our thanks for all the hell they went through to try and save people..or have you already forgotten people hundreds at a time, lining up for free clinics to get the basic care..

(2,471 posts)This is about Biden not Obama. You are doing exactly what Joe is doing, making the argument about Obama instead of Biden.
On Edit. People are still lining up by the hundreds for free clinics.
