(10,053 posts)I too promised to come off my undecided stance after the debates, BUT have only been able to narrow it down - not select my one and only....

(10,862 posts)I was so proud of and impressed by both Warren and Harris.
And since they were on different nights, I really couldnt choose right now.
They are tied for me until the July debates.

(5,811 posts)I don't think they understand the difference between community organizing and activism. I would say the same applies to Sanders.

(5,811 posts)I love her being my senator. She's awesome. Warren is the best policy wonk candidate ever. She is amazing.
Presidents must represent the entire country not just the people who supported them. Presidents must be able to recruit the BEST and brightest, including those have the historical memory of our constitutional democracy actually working.
I don't see Harris in particular having the relational and political resources to make that happen. I see Warren as having a better chance of pulling together a high quality team.
If either one became the nominee, I would happily support them, campaign for them and VOTE for them.
But they didn't make my 3C list because there are more qualified candidates.

(43,107 posts)I would never say that any of our serious candidates, regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, etc are not capable of butting together a great leadership team.
Obviously people are one million percent free to rank one over the other, but that is NOT what you did. You said they were incapable, literally that they lack the capacity. To me that is an outrageous statement.

(5,811 posts)highly dependent on the relationships nurtured over a LONG period of time. I chose the candidates who had the BEST capacity to recruit, build and sustain the BEST team. While I think Warren has more capacity than Harris, I still think a candidate's policy prescriptions determine who they can get to implement them AS THE CANDIDATE ENVISIONED.
If Harris or Warren was our nominee and they put together a team and the team said, look we can do this piece, but we can't do this other piece now because of one, two three. I would be the kind of supporter who would respect that because I understand policy making is extremely complicated. However, the same people who are supporting them for emotional reasons would be the same people attacking them when they are unable to implement exactly what they envisioned.

(5,811 posts)With said, I know I MUST vote for whoever the DEM nominee will be. That's my commitment to the common good. Even if the nominee doesn't meet my 3C test, I know all of our candidates are committed to the wellbeing of ALL Americans, including immigrants, the backbone and strength of our nation.

(4,490 posts)No particular order:
Warren
Harris
Sanders
Castro
Buttigieg
I feel like Warren is her front runner, with Harris and Castro trailing closest.
She also liked Gabbard and Booker.
She didn't mention O'Rourke, Klobuchar, Inslee, Gillibrand, Delaney, Hickenlooper, De Blasio, or Bennett.
She thought Swalwell had a couple good points, and her opinion of Biden as POTUS dropped.
She thought Yang and Ryan stood out as not even belonging on the same stage as the rest.
My impressions from another large forum I follow: Warren is the most well regarded, and there is a very sharp devide over Sanders. Extremely polarizing. Harris gained a fair amount of support, though her record as AG is hotly debated (and a big turn off for some).
Biden is outright despised by most, but at the same time, there's still division over whether he is the best to beat Trump.
Buttigieg did well, some argument over social justice and his city (I think missed some big news at some point). Castro was getting some buzz.
Yang got a lot of talk, mostly for comedic value. A few liked him previously, but agreement was universal that he bombed. First time I've ever seen every single person on a forum with tens of thousands of members agree on a political candidate before lol.
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided

(43,107 posts)1. Buttigieg
1a. Harris (I have the feeling she might be getting my California vote if Pete doesn't move up in A-A support)
3. Warren
4. Booker
5. Bullock (my contrarian centrist dark horse pick (still wish he would run for Senate though), he really intrigues me, as he is the ONLY candidate to win in a ruby red state, he also , as Governor bent a Rethug legislature to his will a lot, he is now qualified for the second round of debates, and he has the 'it' factor for me). I think he would pull a shit tonne of swing voters.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
