Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumI appreciate how Buttigieg is responding to criticism of his handling of the police shooting
He's dealng with it in a straightforward, mature way, acknowledging he could have done better, and clearly trying to find a way to address the current problems and to do better in the future. I also appreciate that his supporters aren't accusing his critics of attacking him or calling him a racist but seem to be respectfully considering other points of view. His maturity, thoughtfulness, and decency are shining through.
Mayor Pete and his team are awesome!

(8,144 posts)been, and this was fleeting, references to his perhaps having a problem handling a racial issue.
These criticisms were balanced by pointing to complex issues and supporters praise.
I can think of one over-blown and distorted account of an exchange in which a minor misquote and
lack of context made it seem Pete had been dismissive, when this was not the case.
I am not a Buttigieg supporter and I and others, even those strongly supporting primary rivals, called out negative posts or coverage.
So I dont think Buttigieg was put on the hot seat week after week except by those he had to face
in his own community.
Here you go again. Pretty clear your praise for Pete contains a comparison to Biden.

(18,486 posts)The other night, when he answered the question of why he the city police department was still not divertified and he said "Because I couldn't get it done," I waited for the "but" followed by a verbal finger pointed at someone else as the reason he couldn't get it done. But the excuse never came.
He's special.
