(13,466 posts)Wall Street and finance executives place their early 2020 bets on a variety of Democratic presidential candidates, from Pete Buttigieg to Kamala Harris, even as the contenders try to distance themselves from big-money donors.https://www.cnbc.com/2019/04/16/wall-street-and-finance-executives-place-first-bets-on-2020-democrats.html
South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who announced his candidacy in January, notably returned over $30,000 to lobbyists after he raised over $7 million in the first quarter of 2019. In doing so, his campaign stated Buttigieg will not be influenced by special-interest money. Less than a month later, it was revealed that he reportedly had been quietly courting wealthy big tech tycoons in Silicon Valley.https://dailycaller.com/2019/05/21/democrats-wall-street-fundraising/
The Times reported: Interviews with two dozen top contributors, fund-raisers and political advisers on Wall Street and beyond revealed that while many are still hedging their bets, those who care most about picking a winner are gravitating toward Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris, while donors are swooning over Mr. Buttigieg enough to open their wallets and bundling networks for him.https://www.commondreams.org/views/2019/07/01/after-bidens-sharp-decline-wall-street-investors-reassessing-other-blue-chips

(37,648 posts)Pete is a moderate. A traditional Democrat. Like me.
The 2016 Democratic Platform probably contains a lot about the traditional Democratic ideology.
We're all on the same side.
