10. Exactly- never trumpers are still Republicans
Reparations is a losing issue, unless you don't want the white working class vote.

16. Did Shields catch him on this? He should have callled him out immediately and not let Brooks
go on and on about it.

4. i am extremely interested in the details of reparations
the present value of "40 acres and a mule" multiplied by all descendants of slaves at 150 years compound interest might be all the money in the world.
should the descendants of union dead pay? the families of immigrants who arrived afyer 1865? native americans (reparations to native americans is a seperate and even more complex issue)? if someone has thought this through in an equitable manner i would like to hear it. some kind of reparation is owed for jim crow segregation as well as slavery. i will say that this needs to be presented very carefully or we will lose very badly. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

8. There are two schools of thought
Amongst those of us involved in this activism in my area/neck of the woods.
Tax Credit, 2, 3, 4, 5 % for 36 years to those who can show a birth certificated and say my parent, grandparent, or myself were black on the US Census in 1940, 50, 60 or 70. Sunsets automatically. No money paid out - but less money paid in. VERY easy to track and trace lineage. I descend from American slaves but let's not gild the lily - a black immigrant from Jamaica in 1940 had just as much shit at him as my grandfather did and was ALSO locked out of the new deal for DECADES. The other thought - eliminate the 2/3 Compromise and Electoral College as we know it. This makes it up to my great great grandparents and their ancestors. This goes back and says - you were HUMAN beings - and we did you dirty and now we are going to set it right. One person one vote in America. I suspect these are threatening ideas to a lot of Americans, but I don't care. They want me to write checks for everything under the sun but can't do either of those two things? Uh - nope. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

9. I like the idea of eliminating the electoral college as reparation.
We need to have a national conversation about it's roots in racism and how it continues to dilute minority votes. If we don't develop that awareness, we will never move on.

11. those seem like practical solutions
repubs love tax credits and will whine but secretly they don't believe we pay taxes.
the constitutional changes are very important for all americans in our qyest for more democracy. if they had just broken the plantations into 40 acre tracts in 1865 this would have all ended 150 years ago. there were so many mules no longer needed to haul cannon and supplies that no one would have noticed a few thousand pullong the plows of freedmen. the railroad corporations were given 5 miles on both sides of the tracks, which they sold to new immigrants so that they would have customers. a few hundred miles of that could have gone to the freedmen. oh well. water inder the bridge. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |

15. I do think one group of descendents deserve $
The Washington DC Slaves set free (about 900) - $300 each in 1863.
There were about 2500 slaves set free. It wouldn't be hard to find them. If only symbolic - give each of their descendents 300 each. Just a symbol. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

...it's funny how conservative Brooks is trolling Dems.
Then people post this tripe here as a wedge against Dem candidates they oppose. Funny. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden |

He's so stupid, he can't even do a respectable job of trolling Democrats.

13. I'm fine with that.
Talk about it in the primary until we’re all blue in the face. Get it good and fleshed out.
And then forget about it for the general when it would activate every white RWNJ from Bakersfield to Bangor to drag their asses through 12 miles of broken glass to get to the polls. ![]() primary today, I would vote for: Undecided |
