SANDERS TOPS DEMOCRATS' LIST OF MOST LIKED 2020 CANDIDATES: GALLUP

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is the Democratic Party's most liked 2020 presidential candidate, according to a new Gallup survey released Friday.

Out of 10 candidates ranked in the poll, Gallup found that Democrats had the most favorable opinion of Sanders, with 72 percent of respondents indicating a favorable view of the senator. Former Vice President Joe Biden, who has been leading every national poll of the 2020 roster, earned the second-highest favorable rating from Democrats, at 69 percent.

Still, these findings which basically have Bernie and Biden at the top (only 3 points difference) to me still say "recognition". They are the two most well-known candidates on the ticket. That takes nothing away from them--just that I think "favorability" is still a proxy measure for name recognition at this juncture.

Joe Biden

I don’t think Newsweek is a Sanders campaign resource.

That's certainly part of it. But I think what's notable is that the two of them poll very similarly in name recognition, and have similar favorables, i.e. among people who know them, they are liked about equally. Which you would never guess from some of the posts here.

If I were to vote in a presidential

Joe Biden

and he was chosen by President Obama for his experience and expertise.

If he was not well-liked, he would not have been chosen.

Anyone who is against Biden is mocking President Obama's judgment. It is THAT simple.
