That is BS revisionist history to give Gillibrand credit for what HRC absolutely made happen. It wasn't Gillibrand down at the site with the mayor and governor immediately afterward. It was HRC.

Did she support HRC's bill? Well, I'd sure as hell hope so.

Desperation. What next? She was with Trump doing clean up?

I guess if you’re gonna interrupt a debate, and you want to get a message out, it ought to be a fairly *specific* ask you’re making. I don’t know why they interrupted Booker; maybe they figured he’s the closest thing to representing NYC after de Blasio. Or maybe they figured that Staten Island should be part of New Jersey!

Ted Kennedy put single payer on the table in 1971.

Nixon rejected it and offered a plan that was to the left of the ACA. Democrats told Ted to walk away from anything but single payer, ostensibly because they thought they could do better. He did.

Kennedy said it was one of the biggest regrets of his political career, because if he hadn't walked away, we might actually have something near to what Canada has.

The ACA is the farthest down the road we have ever come to universal health care.

In response to going to a universal system in which everyone would be covered is a republican talking point and as De Blasio said its fear mongering. Its also a conservative talking point to emphasize taxes when everyone's costs go down.

You think somebody like Biden who was instrumental in helping pass the ACA and has worked on these issues for a long time does not know anything about it ? That's a bit preposterous. Disagreeing with his plan is fine, saying he is ignorant of issues is a bit much.
