Elizabeth Warren hammers ‘hate-for-profit’ Fox News after shootings

When Elizabeth Warren was asked earlier this year if she’d ever attend a Fox News town hall, the Democratic presidential candidate slammed the network as a 'hate-for-profit scam' and vowed never to accept an invitation.

In the wake of the two mass shootings that have reportedly left 29 dead and some 53 injured, Warren doubled down on her stance:

We need to call it out: Fox News is a hate-for-profit machine that gives a megaphone to racists and conspiracists.

Before her Fox tweet, Warren joined a chorus of voices calling for action:

We're waking up to the second mass shooting in as many days. I’m heartsick for the 29 people killed this weekend in El Paso and Dayton—and all the other lives we lose every day due to senseless gun violence. We need to take urgent action to end the gun violence epidemic.

twitter and I found the responses disheartening. Bickering, name calling, Trump glorifying 🙄 plus many said the El Paso shooter was a Democrat. Where are they getting that?

and tweeted things like 'vote blue for gods sake'.

As a leading candidate for the Democratic nomination, trolls and RW operatives, spam Elizabeth's twitter feed. The disgusting pile on that followed her proposal to break up big tech, was truly spectacular.

to force the Republican-controlled senate and WH to take? Let's get real. That became impossible on November 6, 2016 for the NEXT FOUR YEARS.

Our Democrats in office will be able to act as soon as they have the power to and Republicans don't have the power to stop us.

Until then (another 456 days to election day alone!), let's help people absorb the reality that OUR VOTES MATTER. Every person who didn't vote to keep the Republicans out of power in 2016 own a share of all these deaths. It didn't have to be this way and shouldn't have been.
