Let Biden Be Biden!

I have had quite enough of all the nitpicking of Joe Biden's minor errors in his speeches. Picking one word out of an entire speech to use as an attack is insane and does us no good.

Does one word destroy everything else? Hell no! This is just Joe. I'm sure most of the speeches are out of the blue and most delivered from the heart, rather that a prompter. Let's see Trump do that.

Let Bartlett Be Bartlett! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_Bartlet_Be_Bartlet

Or for the real world, Let Reagan Be Reagan. He wasn't ripped apart over his many mistakes.

There is a major difference when you defend a pathological liar while calling every misspoken word by Joe Biden a gaffe.

Stop feeding the flames of pettiness. There are many missteps on the campaign trail, many brought by fatigue. It happens to the youngest as well as the oldest.

Do we really want to sling shit over a mistake? I am glad everyone else is so perfect 24/7.

Let's focus on the important issues and embrace the reasons we like Joe Biden!

LET BIDEN BE BIDEN!
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

2. Sorry, the media has decided on the narrative: Biden's Gaffes matter. Trump's don't.

Better get used to that.

The media is going to HAMMER Biden more and more each time he makes a verbal misstep.

It will get 10 times worse if and when he's the nominee.

53. President Obama and David Axelrod had a close working relationship

"And I actually had this interesting conversation with Obama after the election … when we were thinking about, we knew we were going to win," he added. "And I said 'I don't, you know, I don't know if I can go.' And he said 'Why not?' And I said, 'Well, first of all … I've spent my whole life setting myself up so I could tell anybody I wanted to go f--- themselves.' And I've walked out of campaigns, and work situations, when I thought it wasn't right. And, I said, 'and you can't say that to the president of the United States.'"

What Obama said next, according to Axelrod, was exactly what the strategist needed to hear.

"And he said 'Well, you know, that's probably true. You can't really say that to the President,' he said," Axelrod explained. "And then he made the case why it was important … and at the end of it, he said 'And one other thing.'"

"He said, 'You can tell me to f--- myself. Just don't do it in front of anybody else,'" Axelrod said. "So I went."

Axelrod ultimately worked as a senior adviser to Obama from 2009 to 2011, and as a top aide on the President's 2012 reelection campaign.

President Obama was simply THE best. And he valued David Axelrod highly. Personally, that's good enough for me!

50. "I went by the White House to sit down with my old friend and reflect on the road he's traveled"

Full transcript: David Axelrod interviews President Barack Obama for The Axe Files

AXELROD (voiceover): I first met Barack Obama when he returned to Chicago from law school in the early '90s to run a voter registration drive. And while I didn't realize at that moment where history would take him, I was taken by him, as someone who really cared about public service, was committed to devoting his life to it, and together, we had an incredible journey.

Now, as the new year approaches, the days are ticking down on the Obama administration, and so I went by the White House to sit down with my old friend and reflect on the road he's traveled.

For one, I thought the comment about Parkland was true except that he wasn't the VP at the time... He was the former VP at the time when they came to visit him. Did I get the wrong information? Did they actually come to visit like I read?

How many of us don't make gaffes?

They just won't get off his back, even if he corrected his comments while speaking.

20. MSNBC was the one thing i would sometimes listen to in the mornings. Not anymore.

I hated some of the ridiculous political attacks on Dems candidates. That Chuck Todd is horridly spineless and a smug idiot.
Till Joe wins the nomination i will continue to boycott network tv news and get the news online.

45. I'll put it this way

If Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and even Kamala Harris, and Beto O'Rourke have not established name recognition by now, then who is at fault. The answer is noone. After months of campaigning, and two major debates, their names are recognized from coast to coast. That does it for the name recognition excuse. I believe that what people are looking for in a president is someone they can trust to repair all the damage the orange one's administration has inflicted upon this nation. Joe Biden is that person.

"Let Reagan Be Reagan. He wasn't ripped apart over his many mistakes"

Reagan was regularly pilloried for senility and openly suspected of Alzheimer's (which was later found to be accurate).

So, maybe not the best example there.

It makes him seem more like a genuine guy instead of some stiff rehearsed type. People like me, working stiffs, can relate more to that kind of thing. And Joe seems more like a normal guy than the freak in the White House ever will be, gaffes or not. At least Biden isnt a serial liar.

65. Not my first choice, but yes, its ridiculous the double standard in the MSM

But we tend to forget that their cult followers are so conditioned that they can be swayed to believe not only false equivalencies, but that the Democrats, or liberals, are doing whatever is the crime du jour even more.

Trump is colluding with Russia? THE CLINTON FOUNDATION RECEIVED SECRET DONATIONS FROM RUSSIA. RUSSIA WAS HELPING THEM MORE!

Trump has a history of serial infidelity and a sexual abuser? BILL CLINTON RAPED MULTIPLE WOMEN AND HILLARY RAN A CHILD SEX RING!

Mueller, a Republican, found Trump guilty of obstruction, but Barr "barred" him from charging a sitting President? ITS A GROUP OF ANGRY DEMOCRATS THAT FOUND NOTHING!

So they will honestly believe, after the MSM piles on this narrative for the next 12 months, that Joe has a worse mouth than Donald grab-em-by-the-pussy Trump. At least in the minds of half the country.

Its very unfair. How our side values those damn FACTS more. They have a kind of advantage in that they don't have to regard those pesky things. But it means that a candidate like Biden is vulnerable, much as Hillary was, with such a long history to glean and overblow any gaffe he's ever made. Which is why, regrettably, it would be a mistake to elect him as our candidate.

72. Opinion: There are more important things to worry about than Biden's gaffes

My response to both was the same, as it was when I was asked about the Biden issue on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports.” There is a racist sitting in the Oval Office implementing a white supremacist policy agenda. So, you focus on Biden’s mouth marbles, and I’ll keep my eyes on the prize. The prize being the eviction of Trump from the White House.

As Waldman also wrote, Trump “is waging a reelection campaign based on racism and fear,” not to mention being “the most prolific liar in American political history (he just passed 12,000 false or misleading claims).” And what makes the focus on Biden’s mouth extra aggravating is how it wipes our memories of the moronic things said by this president, as my follower @absolut_irish was so kind to remind Biden’s critics.

Some of these are funny. Some are worthy of a cocked eyebrow. But they are not nearly as consequential as the racist and white supremacist beliefs parroted by Trump and the right-wing echo chamber that found their way into the manifesto of the suspect in the El Paso mass shooting, who told police his target was "Mexicans.” The atmosphere of menace and danger is now indisputable. Your time would be better spent worrying about the shredding of our values, ideals and the rule of law than the flubs of a particular candidate who would put an end to this shameful chapter.

73. you do understand that it is not Democrats "nitpicking of Joe Biden's minor errors in his speeches."

If most voters were objective, did their due diligence electing people to higher office, understood that there are liars who on top of that are horrible people, that there are other people who are good and occasionally make blunders when they speak, then great, nothing to worry about.

The reality is something else, most voters are not politically savvy, they go with what they hear on the radio, TV, what uncle Bubba, or their parents tell them. The majority of voters don't do their due diligence vetting their candidates, and thus make bad choices as we have seen over and over.

Remember how republicans sold GW as "the guy you can have a beer with"??? Sure...that will be the day, but they ate it up.

Biden needs to be reminded that republicans, although they don't do much right, they are great at propaganda, they will take any Biden gaff and make it into a meme in no time...Example: "Weapons of Mass Destruction"...Even after it had been proven there were no WMD, that GW Bush had accepted there were none, people were still talking about the existence of those and the major reason for invading Iraq.

Forgive me, but most voters are really stupid, the republicans will take one of Biden's gaffs, run with it, make a meme of it, and all the stupid people will believe it.

Biden needs to avoid making any more gaffs, if he doesn't he is going to spend a lot of time defending them, and that is no way to run a campaign.

We must be objective, we must recognize the faults of those we support, if we can make suggestions to those people to make sure they make amendments then great, but to defend at all cost what is in fact a weak point and doesn't serve anyone well, that is not good.

"The problem with the World is that intelligent people are fool of doubt, while stupid people are full of confidence."
~~ Charles Bukowski
And republicans are full of confidence.

79. Sure, but in the process Biden needs to guard himself from gaffs

The more gaffs he makes the more republicans will compare Biden as an equal to the creature, and if you don't believe in the power of propaganda from republicans then you have not seen them in action.

All the noise they made with Biden's gaff about "Asian and Black kids are as smart as white kids" (not verbatim)...they ran with that, and if you don't think they will exploit past and future gaffs from Biden you are underestimating them. I am sure they have a group of people, as we speak, going through all the gaffs Biden has made in his life, they will not be reduced to the new gaffs, I bet they will bring things from the past as well.

If Biden becomes the nominee I want him to win by an landslide, his campaign must be perfect, the fact that you are a fan of his and see him on a great light doesn't mean other people see him the same, on the contrary, other people are just waiting to "hear" more, and republicans will make sure they "hear" the negative propaganda.

Have we forgotten about "her emails"? What a meme, how well it worked...OK.
