Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumMorning Consult's polling of voters' 2nd choices indicates no one can catch Biden by other
candidates dropping out or fading, simply because he does better or almost as well as any other candidate when voters are asked who their second choice would be.
https://morningconsult.com/2020-democratic-primary/
Sanders supporters, when asked for their 2nd choice:
Biden 30%, Warren 27%, Harris 7%
Warren supporters, when asked for their 2nd choice:
Sanders 23%, Harris 20%, Biden 19%
Harris supporters, asked for their 2nd choice:
Warren 28%, Biden 23%, Sanders 12%
Buttigieg supporters, asked for their 2nd choice:
Warren 22%, Biden 20%, Harris 17%
So, if any of these candidates dropped out or drastically lost support, apparently Biden would pick up approximately as many of their supporters as his nearest rivals would.
And in case anyone's wondering about Biden supporters' 2nd choice:
Sanders 26%, Warren 19%, Harris 13%

(11,986 posts)If someone is genuinely undecided and cannot even name who they are leaning to, it looks like they are not taken into account in morning consult's polling figures. As far as I can see, their figures are not percentages of all voters, but rather all voters who express any preference. In fact, if you use their numbers to add up all the support for all candidates, it comes to 102%! I guess that's from rounding errors. But the point is, it is not accurate to think that 100% of people know who they're voting for, meaning the morning consult figures don't give us an idea of how many people's votes are still up for grabs.

(28,120 posts)Because we need Texas to guarantee the win of the election. Texas has 36 electoral votes! 36!!
And we need our ladies in their States doing the great job they already are and can't afford to risk a seat to a Republican.
Besides, I love Beto.
