Trump blasts media, Biden, Warren in Pennsylvania

How is that for bipartisanship? Trump and Bernie attacking the media on the same day?

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/457312-trump-blasts-media-biden-warren-in-pennsylvania

President Trump blasted the media, U.S. trading partners and his Democratic rivals for the White House in a Tuesday speech that had been advertised as focusing on energy and manufacturing.

Trump spent roughly an hour in Monaca, Pa., speaking to workers at a Shell petrochemical plant. While his speech was sprinkled with references to his administration's efforts to expand pipelines, produce more energy and cut regulations, the president regularly went off on tangents swiping at critics.

“Can you imagine if I got a fair press? I mean, we're leading without it. Can you imagine if these people treated me fairly? The election would be over,” Trump said, taking a dig at the media.

In another random aside directed at the media, Trump mocked the Academy Awards and suggested the annual show had seen a drop in ratings because it didn't align with his supporters.

It's the Alzheimers. It will only get worse in tone and frequency, probably with abrupt and rapid outbursts.

6. Please don't post articles from The Hill

The Hill is owned by a Trumpite billionaire.
It is a sh*tstirring publication that amplifies Trump's messages (as here) and also chooses stories that divide and harm Dems.

Please don't post its articles here. By doing so you amplify them and help The Hill, its owner Jimmy Finkelstein, and Trump.

...I am reluctant to just write off the media generally unless they really are overtly pushing a right wing agenda. This reminds me too much of the current occupant in the White House. Also, it demeans the work of journalists who fulfill a noble profession. Being a journalist is a tough gig. Finally, unlike Fox News, the Hill has not shied away from publishing pieces that are critical of Trump.

15. The Hill pushes a rightwing agenda.

The Hill hired John Solomon to smear Hillary.
There are great legitimate news outlets out there. The Hill is not one of them, even though some of their line reporters are good journalists— editorial control causes a rightwing bias. Neither is Axios or NYT Politics (sadly. much of the rest of NYT is ok). Bothsideism (aka the savvy style) cripples those two. Also pushing a rightwing agenda are DC Examiner or Epoch Times or the WSJ (again, sadly).

I do agree that the Hill is just center-right on average. In detail: the op-Ed pages use the “Hannity and Colmes” strategy— they have weak token liberals and are dominated by very hard-right conservative crazies. The news pages are actually largely ok, but they do run stories ad headlines that amplify and repeat Trump and other rightwing talking points. And Finkelstein does exert subtle influence even on the reporters. And the Hill did bring in John Solomon, a rightwing shill, from Circa/Sinclair. And Solomon almost single handledly created the Uranium One false Hillary smear, and the timing was such that it looked like he was almost brought in to do so. That was bad. We should shun The Hill.

Read instead:
The Atlantic, the WaPo, The New Yorker, Mother Jones, Pacific Standard (so sad), Crooked Media, Vox, The Daily Beast, Politico, TPM.
Listen to CNN and MSNBC and NPR but realize they are all corporate-influenced for-profit infotainment full of bothsidesism. (Yes NPR too. Sad.)
Listen to good podcasts:
from the New Yorker, Vox, Crooked/Pod Save America, Chris Hayes, etc.

By the way, Bernie is the most likeable candidate for Democratic voters for three years running, according to Gallup. This year, Joe comes in a close second, of course.
