Beto Wrote This and Bernie Wrote That Could Well be a GOP/Kremlin Divide and Conquer Trap

Thanks to TexasTowelie for reminding me of a bit of political trivia, a stupid story that really "disturbed" people like Glenn Beck about how Sanders once wrote something about a woman's rape fantasy. In 1972. The very first time in all of recorded history that anyone has ever written about a woman's rape fantasy. OMG! Sanders invented the myth of women have rape fantasies! What a monster! I'm literally pulling my hair out and foaming at the mouth!

......

So, if someone tells us that Beto wrote a bit of fiction about a teenager's momentary murderous impulse, not acted upon, it becomes easy to claim that Beto single handedly is responsible for all the teenagers who have ever committed murder. And then, Beto supporters will be up in arms and declare "Not True! But Sanders is responsible for everyone who ever imagined that women sometimes fantasize about being raped!" And then the supporters of the two candidates can get into poo flinging battle that would make a band of chimps watch in awe. And then the so called "feminists" can jump in with "Women seldom commit violent crimes and rape. You can not trust a candidate with a penis." And then the shit really hits the fan.

Remember Pat Buchanan's strategy in 1972 when he created CREEP for Tricky Dick Nixon:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/national/longterm/watergate/stories/buchananmemo.htm?noredirect=on

The preparation of attacks on one Democrat by another -- and 'endorsements' of one Democrat by another, which has to be repudiated, are examples of what can be done.

These are the words that every Republican Dirty Trickster lives by. And so does the Kremlin.

Just say NO to Kneecapping and Divide and Conquer! Solidarity!

If I were to vote in a presidential

Elizabeth Warren

1. I agree, though we also have to remember that opposition research is a thing.

I don't discount the possibility - likelihood, frankly - that the right wing is behind this stuff, but the stakes in this race are incredibly high and primary campaigns have opposition researchers for a reason.

That being said, there's zero doubt that the Rs would dig up this stuff to create havoc. 50+ years of that is proof.

7. Wondered that myself.

Toward the end, they were frantically looking for anything they could use here in TX, so I almost have to believe they didn't find it. It's certainly curious.

3. I'm a lesbian feminist -

And I agree.

Tbh, I would really prefer a female for office, but I just want to beat Cheetolini.

I do know that if people knew about some of the stories what I've written, even just recently, I'd really know that I would have no chance at public office, except in select locations.

One or two fleeting stories from a teen's mind is not enough to disqualify him, imho.

We need to see more of the whole person.

So far, I'm leaning Biden/Harris, but I want to wait and learn more about all the candidates.

4. Better to be prepared and deal with it now... instead of putting out a fire on election eve.

Just say NO to Kneecapping
Not everything is "kneecapping". We can't simply pretend that things don't exist that the GOP will take full advantage of as well.

9. I agree

And we need to keep in mind that trump is a narcissist, and he won't be nice in the debates, as we saw in 2016. He will say anything to attack those he considers his enemies, and our candidate will have to defend themselves from his vile attacks.

I want someone who can beat trump, and stand up to him in the debates with no "surprise" allegations at the last minute being thrown out by trump. All the candidates need to be vetted now "before" the debates with trump start.

5. Of course they are. But Russia's usual tactic is to

criticisms by both right and left wing agents and candidates against each other.

So of course you're right about the self-defeating nature of dishonest and nasty partisanship. The Kremlin's strategy of using our own ignorance and indulgences of weak character against us works.

8. How the candidate responds is what matters to me.

Trump got away with his crap by doubling down and whataboutism. Kavanaugh used righteous indignation. Sanders seems to be using a New York back to business attitude. Klobuchar said, "damn right I'm tough and resourceful." What should Beto do?
