I actually agree with Joe Scarborough on Biden strategy.

This morning, Morning Joe devoted a segment to Biden’s gaffes and just how important and non important they are.
Scarborough (who wants Biden to be President) blamed Biden’s staff for putting him in awkward situations. He said that Biden just needs to stick to a TelePrompTer script at rallies and not go off script where he has been prone to mix up his stories or misspeak.
This makes sense to me.
I hope that Biden’s staff was watching.

You may say that I don’t want Biden to win because I declared Warren as my favorite.
I actually would be very comfortable with Biden as President.
I just prefer a woman with either Warren or Harris getting our nomination.
However, if we get into the primaries in early 2020 and a lot of the reputable polling (both nationally and in key battleground states) continue to show Biden beating Trump easily whereas those same polls showing a close race with Trump against other Dems, then I will switch to Biden.
Because we simply can’t risk losing in November 2020.

So, please Biden’s staff, do everything you can to protect and help your nominee.
Don’t give the gop any more ammunition to tear him down.
The ONLY way Trump beats him is if they can paint Biden as mentally deficient even more so than Trump is.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

off script where he/she has been prone to mix up his/her stories or misspeak. That should be a no-brainer.

Joes biggest weakness is not knowing when to stop talking.
He loves to tell stories and he then often rambles and forgets or mixes up details.
In his case, less is more.

5. Come on, Scarborough elects REPUBLICANS and lies about Democrats.

No one should be fooled about that for a moment. He wants Trump gone and his party to rescue itself from self-destructive extremism by electing conservatives of his own type or stronger, but not crazy. But Scar will once again do his best to elect as many Republican majorities as possible, and I wouldn't bet a nickle he wouldn't help elect Trump if the alternative was losing power to Democratic domination.

Scarborous is a committed moderate conservative, Kahuna; economically conservative, more liberal socially but still conservative, and that's what he's selling fellow conservative voters. And apparently some he hopes he can pull from the left.

I do sometimes watch his show, and he's constantly hitting Trump, but its also full of false equivalences between Democrats and trump supporters or other bad elements. Those are a dead giveaway that their true agenda hasn't changed since his show began. In 2016 he puffed up Bernie Sanders to weaken support for Hillary, and I don't doubt he'd rather have Biden than Warren, say, but neither is acceptable. He wants to save the Republican Party with a new, sane president AND that Republican Party to continue in power. Under a McConnell and Trey Gowdy who serve the very wealthy without having to deal with Trump will work for him.

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Everyone has to be a smart listener for himself these days, though.

And understand that conservatism and liberalism are basic orientations. They're not jerseys to change out. Biden is and always has been far too liberal for Scarborough, and vice versa. They can work together and reach agreements because they're both moderates on their sides, not dysfunctional extremists, and understand that's the way representative democracies have to function.

11. It became VERY PERSONAL between Trump and Joe & Mika
Thu Sep 5, 2019, 07:52 PM
Sep 2019

They helped him get the gop nomination with tons of free airtime.
As he does with everyone eventually, he turned on them and attacked them both in very personal ways.
They both loathe him now.
But, yes, Joe wants his type of gop back if it’s possible to find it post Trump.

As for 2020, of the Dems, Joe prefers Biden, Ryan, Delaney, etc. what he calls the center left Dems that he could vote for. He also really likes Mayor Pete.
He does not like what he calls the ultra left Sanders or Warren...says they could lose to Trump but that Biden would beat Trump handily.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough asks Jesus to forgive him for once being a Republican

Scarborough spent much of Wednesday morning live tweeting his thoughts on the hearing and had an issue with Republicans treatment of Mueller. He repeatedly called Republicans “offensive,” accused them of yelling at Mueller and said Rep. Louis Goehmert’s questioning was “insane.”

Scarborough was famously close with Trump in the early stages of his political career before eventually turning on him. The MSNBC host hung around Mar-a-Lago and was once accused of colluding with Trump during a town hall event when a hot mic allegedly captured a commercial-break conversation.

But Scarborough and his wife/co-host Mika Brzezinski are now among Trump’s biggest critics in the media. They attack the president on a regular basis and often declare he is “not fit to hold the office.”

So there!

only after Joe, and Mika, helped get Trump elected in order to defeat Hillary/Democrats. Remember, the Democrats had been expected to gain the presidency, the senate, and at very least close to half the house; as time went on, analysts started saying we might get a majority in the house also. Complete disaster for Republicans and, to his mind, for the nation, which under the Democrats would only get "far worse." Joe had/has hopes of restoring traditional conservatism to the corrupted Republican Party, all discussed in his book, The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America's Promise.

So in 2017 after the Democrats were defeated and Republicans in power, it was time to disassociate from the mess they'd help create, and Joe turned on Trump. They knew he was disordered, of course, and causing him to fly into a rage with them wasn't exactly hard. I was watching every morning in those days and remember Mika, knowing Trump watched the show each morning, laughing on the air about Trump's attraction to her and describing how she manipulated him.

Joe's a power player, but don't hope he'll be making kings out of any Democrats. If you think about what he says about those Democrats he could supposedly vote for, you'll realize you never go away thinking Democrats are doing a good job; they're always screwing up as sympathetic and so-concerned Joe is always pointing out. And in the meantime, Joe says precious little about the massive corruption among the Republicans he hopes to help keep/put back in control of Congress.

Btw, I agree with Joe that America desperately needs traditional, sensible and moderate conservatism dominating the Republican Party. With the RW anti-regulation plutocrats (who purged traditional conservative values) controlling economically and rabidly Southern/religious ideologues dominating culturally, though, that's going to be very hard to pull off and maintain. But I wish him well with that, just not with keeping what today's Republican Party has become in power while he hopes.

Might check his book out. After he wrote it, Republican Party continued its spiral into massive corruption and betrayal -- not his intent, but in fighting to keep it in power he has certainly been part of it. He's an admirer of Russell Kirk and Edmund Burke conservatism and disavowed the vicious partisanship he was part of during the New Gingrich/Bill Clinton years. Joe explained that he believed radical conservatism was needed to undo the "radical liberalism" of the New Deal era that ended with election of his hero Ronald Reagan.

I could copy these reviews from Amazon, but not text from the "Look Inside!" samples:

"It is time again for conservatives to lead America into the future.

“Conservatives need to read this book. Joe Scarborough is a real conservative.”
—Jed Babbin, Human Events

“In this engaging and timely book, Joe Scarborough undertakes a critical mission: the reinvigoration of conservatism in America. Aiming to take conservatives beyond reaction and beyond sentimentality, he asks the big questions, and does not shy away from offering answers. This is an important contribution to one of the most vital debates of the day.”
—Jon Meacham

“Joe Scarborough can save the GOP. This is a lively, likeable and important book. So my fellow Republicans–rejoice. We have a face! Now let’s get to work.”
—Christopher Buckley

“The Last Best Hope is must reading for anyone who cares about the conservative movement.”
—Peggy Noonan

just recently, Joe actually asked God to forgive him for being a republican. That citation is in the link I shared above, which you may have chosen to ignore. Yes, he still considers himself a conservative, but is pushing for the Democrats to not only win back the White House, but congress too.
