Yesterday's election results in NC prove we can't play it safe in our presidential nomination...

We need to nominate a visionary like Bernie (or maybe Warren). The safe choice is going to fail just as it did in NC. Americans want change and are tired of the safe choice. The safe choice doesn't motivate the base to get out the vote. Let us learn from the election results and adjust our course to avoid a disaster.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Bernie Sanders

2. maybe Warren. but not Sanders. he has a very unimpressive record

has been in public office for decades with little accomplishment. and he doesn't seem to understand issues too well.

4. We should nominate someone who has a record of accomplishment

like Biden or Warren. Someone who can work cooperatively with others to get things done. That person isn't Bernie sanders.

7. Maybe I am missing something here

I see a guy who ran 11+points ahead of the last two republican presidents in that district and way ahead of other democrats who have run in the past. Are you saying that progressives stayed home because they think the bathroom bill guy was better than the Democrat in the race. If that is what you are saying, than we are fucked.

10. The bigger question is, did republicans cheat again?

Was their cheating more professionally executed? What are Democrats doing to prevent the cheating from republicans? To think they won't cheat, or that they may have cheated in NC again is not healthy for our democracy. I hope investigations have began in NC, I don't buy some of the results.

12. This Election Result Demonstrates Why Republicans Have been Heavily Invested in Gerrymandering

Gerrymandering and voter suppression wins elections for Republicans and their goal is permanent Republican governance.

13. This election result tells me that Democrats have come closer than ever to gaining seats in

a gerrymandered district, and when the maps are redrawn for 2020, we will do great.

16. The Supreme court isn't making anyone redraw the maps...gerrymandering will continue...fielding

candidates who can win is our only option...without a beg tent that includes conservadems, we will never have a Senate nor House majority...in years gone by our majorities included conservadems like Lincold and Landrieu etc.

17. The state of North Carolina has mandated that the maps be redrawn for 2020. The Supreme Court has

nothing to do with this. Yes, this only affects state seats at the moment, but once we have a majority in he state, we can redraw the US legislative districts.

It is a hard haul for any democrat. The best thing that can happen there is economic growth that bring in better educated voters.
